I just got my 40-190 Philco working and when I tuned it in the first thing I pick up is the Jack Benny show. I thought my dreams had come true and I went back to 1940.

I have a National HRO, which is one of the legendary intercept receivers from WWII. When I fired it up for the first time I heard an unidentified station sending five-letter groups in CW. :eeek:
I know what you mean. Spooky !
That reminds me of a 1961 episode of The Twilight Zone called "Static", which involves an old radio receiving signals over twenty years old.
I couldn't find the episode on YouTube, but here's a clip from it:

Love those National sets. I've still got an early HRO (3 digit serial number and 2.5 v tubes)' a little FB-7, and an SW-5.
