This little film has much to enjoy, especially the fashions at the beginning. But for me, what's cool is the glimpse of the ferry that runs across the narrow middle part of Chautauqua Lake, where I grew up. They built a big bridge about 30 years ago, which enables people to get across year round. But a group got together and saved the ferry and it runs regularly all summer long, the way it did 75 years ago. And aside from having a relatively new Cummins engine, the Stow Ferry is today exactly as it is in this film.
