I purchase shorts jeans recently from a young company called 1083.
http://www.1083.fr/
1083 km separate the two most distant cities of France.
The company is based at Romans (Drôme) near where I live. Their motto is to weave, dye and sew in France. Only the cotton and hardware (buttons, nails) come from Africa and Italy. Jeans cost from 89€ to 109€. For 89€, 86€ goes back to the local economy.
They offer 2 fabrics :
- a 10.3 oz denim inspired by Sergé de Nîmes stole shown in the Nîmes Museum
- a 13.4 oz denim inspired by Selvedge denim.
They even offer to download their pattern to make your own jeans (you can buy denim fabric alone).
They are very well made and the quality is top-notch.
When I have 5 min I'll snap some photos of my shorts (10.3 oz).
I'll probably buy their Selvedge denim after summer.
