If you want to keep your shoes and invest in a pair of insoles, I'd highly recommend Orthosoles. They've got adjustable pieces for your arch and the ball of your foot, so you can vary the firmness. I used them when I played roller derby and LOVED them. I can't say enough good things about them...

I'm going through all my clothes, shoes, accessories, etc. and trying to decide what to hang up, what to store in drawers, and what to do about my shoe problem. I have all the off-season stuff in rubber tote bins behind the eaves, but want to figure out how to make the in-season stuff more...
Funny description, not funny to have that scent hit you in the face when you open the package! My grandmother smoked so much even her dishes reeked of smoke. Revolting.
For coats, I'd definitely go the thrift shop/yard sale/flea market route. I'm reluctant to buy clothing online anyway...
Last night I made an absolutely fantastic German chocolate cake entirely from scratch, frosting and all.
I'm a huge fan of chocolate and orange together...I love the chocolates shaped like oranges labelled "Whack and unwrap." I have a recipe for a cake that tastes much like those...it's a...
Lots of wool skirts, tights, and boots. I adore boots and wear them regardless of whether or not they look vintage. They look good and they keep me warm.
Awesome vintage coats...one of my friends gave me a stunning green coat with a fur collar. It weighs a ton, but the color makes my hair...
Last weekend my husband and I attended a BBQ. One of his friends was there with his wife, an incredibly judgmental woman...she thinks anyone who chose not to follow the same path she did is somehow worth less than she is. Since my husband didn't get married right after college and left a...
And another lucite purse slips away... this time I was out shopping and missed the end of the auction. :rage: I love turtles and thought the detail on this was cute.
New shoes. They're suede with patent leather. Though not vintage, they look great with three of my pencil skirts...including the one that caused my wardrobe meltdown yesterday. :)
My eyes were light brown for years, but over the last two years, they've been developing some green, so now they're technically hazel. But I still think of them as brown and will continue to list them as such on my driver's license.
My husband's eyes are a wonderful stormy sky/ocean gray-blue...
When I was in college, I had a roommate whose mother wrote her papers for her. Appalling, but true. Mom wrote L's papers and faxed them to Kinko's (we didn't have email or internet on campus and most of us still used word processors) then L would retype the papers and hand them in.
It was...
This has happened to me several times....like today, for example.
I have on a lovely light taupe colored pencil skirt with a white cami and a yellow short-sleeved cardigan. Sadly, I didn't realize I don't have shoes that work with this outfit until I was on my way out the door, so I threw on...
Avoid the CoverGirl OutLast lipstick that has a separate topcoat if you don't want your lips to feel encased in shellac. If you're ok with that, I assure you the stuff won't come off.
I just revisited this thread - ZombieGirl, I love your compact!
Dahlia, how big are those lipsticks? They look sample-sized. I adore wee lipsticks. My mother inadvertently started me collecting vintage compacts and cosmetics when she cleaned out her attic and discovered a ton of Avon rouges...
Funny eyebrow story: when I was in college, I lived with my boyfriend's family for a while, as did his 80-year old alcoholic grandmother. One day one of my friends came to visit me. Amanda went into the bathroonm to wash her hands and found Gramma Charlotte drawing on GIGANTIC peacock blue-green...
I would go with nude stockings until it gets chilly out, because in my brain, black stockings = cold, but that's just me. What's the cream to black ratio on the shoes?
