Can I use Noodler's ink in my Waterman Phileas pen with no worries? I notice the paperwork included with the pen says use only Waterman's ink, is that just so they sell more ink or is it for a real reason?

Today I am carrying a 1930's circa lever fill fountain pen made by "Miracle", just picked it up on ebay. Nib is a fine that says Warranted "Velvet Touch" 14k Gold Plate. Pen looks to be made of celluloid, a very attractive black with copper and silver.

I shave with a straight razor everyday. I rotate between using one of two Dovo's, a 5/8 Dovo Special or a 5/8 Dovo Pearlex, or I use a vintage Brown Razor Co. 5/8 full ground, or a Wade and Butcher wedge. I like to rotate them. As far as shave soap, I use Col. Conk and a boar/badger brush. I...
Here's my late '30's early '40's era Bell Western Electric 302, atop of a vintage golden era "gossip chair" that gets regular use.
I also have a '60's era Western Electric rotary desk phone on my desk that get used daily as well. I'm looking for a nice wall phone now.

I just picked up these vintage frames. I am going to be getting my prescription put in them sometime over the next few weeks. They seem to be in very good shape. 12k GF and have mother of pearl nose pads.
I believe that they are '40's vintage but I am no expert?

Virtue, 1932, starring Carole Lombard and Pat O'Brien. Was on AMC the other day. First time I watched it, I thought it was a really entertaining movie.

Dave,
Nice Falcon. Looks to be in outstanding shape. My brother has a '65 Falcon that he has owned since he was in high school 20 years ago, it was his first car and he still has it. He shows it at the local car shows. I had a '66 Fairlane 500 convertible a few years back that I restored...
I agree, my '39 Dodge costs me $75.00 a year for full insurance coverage, but It is mainly because under the policy rules the car is not allowed to be used as a daily driver. Only to and from car shows, or used in weddings, parades, or other special events. No racing, or driving it to work or...
Here's my take on the subject. While there are some classy cars still being built no doubt, mainly high end and foreign, cars themselves are not looked at the same as they were in the golden era. What I mean by that is now cars to me are more of an appliance. They lack the glamour and glitz...
Yes indeed! That was the main reason I added them to my '39, I was not too confident about today's drivers seeing or recognizing hand signals. I couldn't agree with you more.

I'm not sure what the laws are in other states, but here in New York, a vehicle is required to be safety and emission inspected each year. The inspection requires the vehicle to meet the standards of the year of it's manufacture. Meaning that all factory original safety equipment, lighting...
