Hello Friend Art, It's been too long!! I'm glad business is booming for you. Nighthawk and I were just talking about you. Maybe by the fall we can save some pennies and place an order......can't have too many Fawcett classics!
Thanks Brother Ed. I have been so busy I haven't had time to even lurk much less post on the old Lounge but my thoughts are never far away from all my friends here.
CHEERS
:eusa_clap So many beauties it dazzles the mind!!! As always Art, your superb craftsmanship is surpassed only by your boundless creativity. I am totally flummoxed as to which one of this new line I lust for most.
Dakatanorth makes a very sound guesstimate with tropical worsted wool but looking at the high res picture, I would say linen. Either fabric would also be inline with a warm weather jacket which is the appropriate time for a white dinner jacket. Although I must confess I have never seen one in...
I can't say what a great pleasure it was meeting everyone Saturday. It was a real tonic in these very cynical times to meet so many kind, intellegent, friendly and VERY FUNNY folks. I'd like to especially thank Major Mike for his boundless hospitality and RBH, et al for their hard work in...
A warm thought goes out to all the Moms in the Lounge and those who dwell now only in our hearts and memories. One day seems hardly adequate to show our appreciation for all the love you give throughout the year. Cheers :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap
I too have been a Big Maybelle fan for a long time and smiled broadly when I saw this thread title. I was just listening to Goin' Home Baby this afternoon on my ipod; great song!! Thanks Bourbon Guy for the post, I'll bet it generates some new Big May fans from amongst Loungers who haven't...
Wow, this is a stumper. I don't think the man on the left is Edward Everett Horton (My favorite character actor along with Peter Lorre and James Gleason). I have seen most Horton's films that still exist and I don't remember one where he had that George S. Kaufman/Barton Fink hairstyle. Also, he...
The day approacheth; the day hath arrived. The week's forecast is for the low nineties with humidity hoovering around the same mark...I fear I must forgo tradition and break out the straw a wee bit early this year.
To all who have answered the call of their country, my deepest thanks.
To all who currently serve far from family and home, my heartfelt prayer for your safety.
To all my commonwealth friends that today remember those who gave the full measure, I will not forget.
Dulce et decorum est
Oh my Brad!! Its a wee size 7 just like my pointy head; if you ever think of parting with it let me know. I promise to love it, and brush it, and take it for long walks.
Solomon Burke, Albertina Walker, and Mrs Cleaver all in the same week. I genuinely feel like I have lost three little pieces of my childhood. Thankfully their work remains; may they rest in the arms of the Lord.
My Grandfather would have punched you on the snout for calling him a "Yank" but all reconstructed Southerners know it is merely an endearing term for North American. You can call me anything but late for supper.
Greetings!
Congratulation on your new hat and welcome to the Lounge. Come on in, get a Highball, put your feet up, and let your hair down. I hope you enjoy your first, but I doubt your last, lid.

Herzen's has a new hat!
Wow, not only is that a beautiful hat (that phase is getting sort of redundant on this thread) but it looks wonderful on you, the proportions are just right.
Bravo sir :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
I won't comment on which variety I think is best because, in this region, blood feuds have begun over less weighty issues but yours certainly sounds delicious!! :essen:
The lovely lady summed up my thinking exactly. The stripe will give you a little flash and the brown will make a more staid impression. My taste is towards the solid brown but I think you should wear whichever suits your style.
