Nope - not me. I want something I can throw on my head and not worry about it to much, as well as some nice hats. I think it is an evolution - you get what you like and can afford, and hopelfully, what you can afford gets better, and the "nice" hats of yesteryear become the beaters of today...
i have had very good luck with the slim fit Charles Tyrwhitt shirts (http://www.ctshirts.com). You can usually get them on sale for around $50. The fabric seems better than any other shorts I have tried in that price range.

Some of my family live in western Oklahoma, and I can tell you that there hats and boots are definitely not an affectation. They seem almost universal on working cowboys, as well as the rodeo crowd, etc.
