Compared to many riders on the tour I have a run of the mill bike. There are some serious collectors on the ride and they have very nice, very old bike, the oldest being 92 years old. Interestingly enough the oldest rider on the tour was also 92.

I happen to have the New Zealand Backpacker sweater on the same page in denim blue. Quite a price difference between the Dachstein and the New Zealand.
My surplus sweater does not have the army patch on the sleeve and I don't think it has the strip of velcro on the chest. I am a disaster with a seam ripper so I have no advice on that front; "a man has to know his limitations."

My bike is a 1969 Raleigh Sports 3 speed. I added the Brooks saddle and the Blackburn racks. About a month ago I found a similar era Raleigh Sprite which is basically the same bike, but with a 5 speed derailuer.
