Always good to trust your gut. Glad you didn't go ahead with the transfer. Kblake's account was indeed hacked, but according to this post, it was restored some months ago https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/aerolover-is-not-a-scammer-account-restored.118000/
Based on your recent experience...
Greg just announced on his IG that he's doing a small run of Olive Badalassi. Though you might be out of luck if it's a long half belt you want.
Edit: Greg (Field Leathers)
Both Alden and Grant Stone source their shell cordovan from Horween so the quality of shell will be more or less the same. The only difference is the end finishing that each maker may put on the shell after receiving it from the tannery. Alden's "eggplant" color 8 is an example of this.
Also...
Individual preference and taste do play a part to some extent in determining if a particular leather is "better" than another. The DH leather from the Nitta tannery that I've experienced is as you say - pliable but still stiff and doesn't really drape. Has kind of an "armor" feel.
I personally...
I've owned a few of them but my experience is pretty limited since I only started this hobby over a year ago. So take this with a pinch of salt.
I think the construction quality and general fit/pattern of DH is just as good as the other high-end Japanese brands. In my opinion, where they fall...
Great write-up. It's good to see another HTC owner on the lounge! There aren't many of us around.
The jacket looks amazing on you. Congrats! I haven't been able to break mine in as much but it's nice to see the potential it has to look as great as yours.
Thanks for the kind words folks! Almost every Thedi I've seen on here looks great on the wearer, which is a testament to his brilliant patterns. This gem of a jacket is no different. Really stoked to finally be able to own one.
Thank you! It's a Universal but I have no idea what size it is...
Absolutely beautiful jacket. Never thought I'd get a chance to see it in person ever since I stumbled upon your post on IG a year ago.
Can't wait for it to get here! Fingers crossed on the fit.
Does IH have reverse-vanity sizing? Or has the waist not stretched out at all from wear? I usually wear 34 in other brands but this waist on this seems very small. Also what's the width of the leg opening? Thanks!
Hello TFL,
Up for sale is the Flat Head Double Rider FN-LJ-HW004 in mint condition. Worn a few times but I have other cross zips I reach for more so I'm moving this along.
Measurements:
Pit-to-pit - 21.5
Shoulder - 19.5
Back length - 24.75
Sleeve length (measured straight) - 24.5
Hem - 20...
Not that it makes it any better but maybe the stitches are aligned when the jacket is worn open? i.e. an imaginary extrapolated line on the right panel past the wind flap may make the whole thing look less "off".
I can attest to the narrow shoulder pattern based on my 'Hugging the Curve'...
The Santa Clara is such a beauty. Especially the limited edition one which looks like it has a shorter body than what RC usually makes and that gloriously grainy buffalo hide. Wish I had jumped on it sooner.
@Nykwil if you ever decide to let it go, please hit me up. ;)
