This is my Barbour Beaufort after 20+ years of hunting with terriers and longdogs. Over the years dozens of different Barbour jackets have passed through my hands but I have always stuck with my "smelly" old one. Its looking at bit dry at the moment after winter but will get a good coat of wax...
Thanks Woodfluter, I was sure somebody would know about the warrants.
Have to say the hat has stood up well, it gets used in the worst of weather and spends the rest of its time folded in half and stuffed in a pocket.
The pic of the hat with me holding it up is from the side.
The peak is the same size front and back and narrower around the sides.
I am unsure of the age as I was given it around 10 years ago.
The label inside has 2 royal crowns and all my newer Barbour clothing has 3 crowns, I have no idea...
Hat or cap?
This has been my foul weather headwear for around 10 years.
Made by Barbour - I guess it would be described as a Deerstalker but without the earflaps. Its very comfortable to wear and great for keeping rain out.
I have bought from the same ebay seller as you in the past, although the cap I bought was a Failsworth Harris Tweed cap. There is nothing wrong with the Failsworth cap its well made and looks ok but its just sits on the shelf and doesnt get worn.
I have no doubt There will be a couple of new...
Its good to hear you like your City Sport cap. I have 4 of them and have found I dont wear any of my other caps anymore.
Mine have all been bought from a local shop so I was able to try them on before buying. The sizing has always been constant, I am a size 58 (7 1/8 in old money) and every one...
Another City Sport silk cap.
This time showing the lightweight cotton lining which makes it ideal for summer.
The silk caps are very light and soft and so comfortable to wear.
I have a few City Sport caps and much prefer them to the Stetson caps I used to have. The quality is about the same but the fabrics City Sport use make them far more interesting and I find the overall fit and shape of the caps more pleasing but of course its all personal choice - my dad was...
I guess it could be a prison officers coat, the embroidred holes seem to indicate it would have taken some sort of insignia. I'm sure somebody will come along who knows.
I would say that coat on ebay which a link was provide too would make a great coat for somebody, at that price I would have...
I have a peacoat made by James Smith & Co.
While I dont doubt it was made for a uniform I have always doubted it was made for the Navy, although I could well be wrong.
I tried to get a closeup of the button and you may notice the 2 embroidered holes which are on the left side of the chest...
I have several pairs of Grenson shoes from the Rose collection and have to say I am more than happy with them.
My experience of the Rushden collection has not been so favourable, I have tried ordering from the Rushden collection 3 times and each time I have returned them, I found the build...
I have an old pair of Trickers which were given to me a few years ago by an elderly uncle but they were too small for me. They are a size 7.5 UK and a 5 width fitting. The label says they are custom made but I dont really have any idea of when.
At some point in their life they have had a...
Whilst they are not strictly dress boots I was still rather pleased to take delivery of these Grenson "chertsey" chukka boots earlier today. (if I have posted in the wrong thread please feel free to move).
Never having worn Grenson shoes before I ordered my usual size but think these seem to...
