The one movie that comes to mind, that I wish that I had never seen,
is Natural Born Killers! While I suppose I understand the point the film was trying to make, it seems to me that the movie was just so exceedingly perverse and violent that it simply had no redeeming values to me whatsoever...
Was there even such a thing as "direct to video" back in 1975? I think the VHS days were a little later, and the concept of releasing movies direct to video did not really appear until the eighties? Still, you may be right about the Doc Savage movie not getting that wide of a release. It...
Lizzie, have you seen the 1940's Captain Marvel serials? What did you think of that portrayal of Captain Marvel? That is one of my favorites of the serials. The special effects and flying scenes were superb! I think Tom Tyler was great in all of the roles he played back in those days.

No, the Doc Savage movie, starring Ron Ely was produced for theatrical release. I remember having such high hopes for this film. Back in that time, the Bantam reprints of the Doc Savage stories were very popular, and it was so thrilling to have a chance to see Doc on the big screen. And Ron...
I at least hope that this movie will lead some new fans to seek out more classic versions of The Green Hornet. It would be nice for the younger audiences to know that The green Hornet was not always presented as a bumbling slacker idiot!
I honestly don't know how this movie got the Green light to be made at all. The whole justification from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who wrote this mess, is that "The Green Hornet is like really old and not that many people really remember him, so we can pretty much do what we want with it!"...
I thoroughly enjoyed the episodes that I gat to see yesterday. Brought back many great memories. I am so glad that SYFY channel hosted this marathon. Now if we could get them to run the Green Hornet serials one day! :)
Tomorrow, Jan 11th, the Syfy channel is running a marathon of The Green Hornet TV series, starring Van Williams and Bruce Lee. I hope that new and old fans alike will take this opportunity to catch this classic series. It will certainly be time better spent than watching the new Seth Rogen movie.
Actually, I just thought about Mathew Fox, who played Dr. Jack Shephard on tv's LOST! I think he could play the Role of the Lone Ranger. Or maybe Jon Hamm from Mad Men?
Russell Brand! ;0 Just kidding. That would be enough for me to shoot myself! In my mind, Clayton Moore is so established as The Lone Ranger that I really have a hard time imagining another actor in the role. I just can't think of anyone on the scene right now that is worthy to fill his...
Late last night I was watching a bit of Scrooged on AMC. My wife and I saw that Airplane was coming on next. We decided that even though it was late and we needed to to be in bed, that we had to stay up to watch a few minutes of this great movie. We ended up watching almost the entire movie...
Even though I hate what Seth Rogen and company have done with The Green Hornet, I have to admit that this is pretty funny!

I think that next to this, the George Pal Doc Savage movie will seem like a masterpiece! I am hoping that The Green Hornet will not suffer the same fate. If this movie bombs, we might never see a decent and faithful movie version of the character. Of course if the movie is a big hit, then all...
Oh I have to disagree with you there. this plot goes far beyond "Personal Growth" , this story concept is absolute character assassination. This portrayal is the exact opposite of the character that has been established and loved for some seventy five years. Seth Rogen and company decided that...
Well, as a fan of the old radio series as well as the 1966 TV series, I have to say that this new movie is something of an abomination! As you might expect from the casting of Seth Rogen in the lead role, this is not your classic Green Hornet story. This film is more like the Pink Panther...
