Mall jackets are fine. You can try it on, return it hassle free and they smell great too. $300 is a great deal. If you use waterproof spray on sheep or lambskin jackets even if it rains the coat is protected. Schott needs to come back down to reality. Their jackets brand new are unobtainable on...
Not ai, and also I took a look at some used listings on grailed and eBay and many of the collar tabs appear smooth and not rippled. I'm not ungrateful just disappointed in this gift. My dad did his best, I guess that counts for somethin
If you felt or tried on a Sly & Co, the leather is smoother and softer than the 641 that I have. That one is smooth but not super soft. Schott is all marketing it seems. I bought into the hype.
My dad was thoughtful but I think he still should have either looked at other 641 or even 141 without the ripple collar tab or just spend more on a new jacket.
I will thank him again. I'll remind him to maybe look at the pictures more carefully in the future for anything he buys online. Not just my stuff but in general.
The jacket is nicely broken in from the previous wearer, and everything looks good to me, except for the collar tab.
The waves/ripples were something I noticed after trying on the jacket and not sure how to make it less rippled. Is there any conditioner safe for steerhide to make the collar tab...
I realized I was mainly gonna wear the jacket out and about, casually. I had always liked the look of lambskin and the Schotts were way too much money still ( talking about used ones on eBay). Maybe one day, but this stress of getting a leather jacket for over a year is behind me.
Lol, I wish. Just a regular Joe who finally bit the bullet (as nice as the Schotts are online, if they fit or feel bad, I'm out money as many don't offer returns)
I hope not lol. As an aside I was approached by a homeless girl who wanted me to fight her as she was squatting at a bus stop. I was wearing a light blue denim jacket haha
It took a while to get a jacket of this style since money was tight for most of last year and part of this year too, but I managed to finally get this when it was on sale. Picked this up a few days ago and it's great.

You may be right. The listed jackets don't mention the age or decade they are from. I don't know how much different the patterns would have changed but they don't look super worn (the more expensive listings). I will stick my suit size and hope for the best.
