Yeah I absolutely need to take some better photos, judging from the responses here. xvx;; It's a perfect fit, but it seems I made it look like it's several sizes too big. I'll get around to it! I just have some unrelated RL work that I need to focus on right now.
Don't fully agree with tucked shirts, but ok. Once it's all nice and fixed up, I'll be sure to take some proper fit pics.
I was told in person by a fashion enthusiast that other than the sleeves it fit almost perfect, so... yeah. Clearly the photos were not great. Not surprising, considering one...
Hmm. Well in my completely honest opinion, the jacket is a bit small on you. Like, there is absolutely no room for "change." It looks like it's a little bit snug on your belly. So if you gain even just a few pounds for whatever reason, you might find it to feel too tight, and the jacket will...
"But, when the top layer of the skin is worn away it deteriorates rather quickly. A jacket in this state, if you don't get moisture into it and apply some care product - you are going to outlive it."
This actually makes me feel a LOT better about reconditioning and applying U-Rad to my vintage...
Well it does LOOK a bit big on me now, but that's because I have it OPEN In both pics. And because I'm still a bit heavy, it's sort of "pushed out" a bit. I have at least 20 more pounds to drop. And some chest muscles to develop.
And like I said, I'll need to get the sleeves shortened. That's...
UPDATE: Turns out my jacket wasn't Aero or SB. It was............ something else.
I could not find any branding on it whatsoever. I looked everywhere. Must be custom-made. But it certainly is old and high quality, since it was apparently labeled as being from the 1970s. This jacket is older...
Weight loss update: I went back to the local leather store (the bad one) just to see if I'd gone down a size.
With some variation on jackets, I have indeed gone from XXL to XL! But XL jackets are still a little bit snug, and the sleeves are too long.
So yeah, looks like I still got a ways to...
Years late, but I'll just say that jacket looks great on you! Good fit, sits nicely on the shoulders, no "neck creases" or anything. I do kinda see your problem with how it sort of sits on your "butt shelf" though. But at a glance, I'd say it looks good. Certainly better than any cheapo...
Well, maybe not THAT heavy. When I was a kid I had a rather heavy leather jacket, they can be exhausting to wear.
I'm ordering some leather samples.
I do quite like the relative lightness and softness of Badalassi leather. Also has some shine to it, which I like. I'm more scared of...
I sent the photos straight to Aero, they said it's most likely brand new CXL Steerhide, and that the CXFQHH would achieve a similar look, but with less weight/stiffness.
Actually long as I'm here, anyone know what particular kind of leather this is in the photo? It looks really good. I was considering tumbled black CXFQHH, but from what I've seen on threads, it often looks more "wrinkled" than "broken in."
Yeah I saw a thread about those "shoulder creases" on here. Though I think my shoulders are somewhat broad, so I don't think that will be much of an issue. I'll be sure to get myself professionally measured at a local high-end tailor before I buy anything. It'll be a while though. Still got at...
I saw this really cool photo of the Aero Premier 30s Highwayman on their facebook. I think this might be the one. I'll keep looking though. Torn between a cross-zip (Likely a Hooch Hauler in black) and this.
I do like a good brown leather!
I don't ride either, so while I love the cross zip style, it might be less "poser" of me to wear something more akin to a bomber jacket, like what you have there. I do have this deerskin jacket I used to wear in college. Very vivid yellow, aged, lots of fringes...
Hello! OP here, just giving an update. The weight loss is still going at a slow but steady rate. Started at 260 pounds, now at 230! That's 30 pounds down! People have been noticing the weight loss, and even my fingers have become less fat, so I have to get my favorite rings resized.
I think...
I'm still here. I'm still in the process of weight loss. I've lost about 15 pounds so far, and I'm slowly getting used to eating less throughout the day as I take some prescribed weight loss drugs. I've also managed to quit caffeine and soda. So it's slow going, but I'm hoping before the year is...
