While the low insulation idea makes some sense, I think it depends where you live in some part. Here in New York City, FQHH is basically useless in the summer, regardless of insulation. We're already getting some daytime weather that is almost too warm for jackets, and FQHH with a cotton...
I imagine they are thinking that orders have still been flooding in, and costs have probably increased. I imagine they'll still sell some jackets.
Sudden, unexpected, large price increases suck, but such is the free market.
Same exact product made by the same exact people in the same exact place. Mark used to just be a USA rep for Aero. Now he is his own entity, but he essentially acts as a middleman. You order from him, he talks with the factory, they ship to him, he ships to you.
The choice is about...
12.5, actually. Though the Lynchburg supposedly once retailed for 250. Just an observation that struck me when I tried on a somewhat similar fitting jacket to see how different it felt.
Well, I'm not really inclined to post pictures of myself on the internet, but shall give it some thought.
Well, sure. But that is how it goes a lot of times with leather jackets. I imagine if he wants these movie jackets from wested, he's going to have to live with that.
I think the Mutt jacket looks pretty good and would still look ok with the weight loss.
The other two jackets looks good unzipped, but look tight when zipped up. I'd say they'd look better if you.....lost 10-15 pounds. Convenient.
As my Yankees and the LA Angels of Anaheim, California, United States, North America, Planet Earth etc. try to figure out how they can manage to play an outdoor warm weather sport in 40F windy rain, some of us were receiving a jacket intended for such purposes.
I received my modified...
As the post on my new highwayman will show, you can get one with the straps at the same level as the half belt. According to Mark, the actual cut of the two are the same, just the straps and detailing are different.
You joke, but I ordered my highwayman in mid-February and finally got it today. That makes the delivery time just short of 8 months. On the upside, I didn't have to sit around during half the summer gazing at my winter jacket longingly.
While I was a bit frustrated with the lack of any...
I also ordered my jacket in mid february, so you are not alone. Mark said he expected it to leave the factory last week, so hopefully i will be getting a similar e-mail soon. We are approaching appropriate weather in the big apple.
No offense, but 700 dollars for that jacket on CL is vaguely ridiculous. It's 675 new from aero USA. Kind of ironic that you complained about CL people wanting something for nothing when you are trying to make a profit on a slightly used jacket.
Some people might a prefer a jacket somewhat...
I ordered a very slightly modified highwayman in mid FEBRUARY. So....yeah. We are now approaching seven months. The idea of not having the jacket for the cold weather it was intended for never really occurred to me when I ordered it. I figured I was leaving plenty of time to send it back in...
I don't care what anyone else says, the odds of the hat helping you are very low. There is a significant chance that it would hurt you, for reasons already mentioned.
Providing an ice breaker to start conversation is nice, but it is definitely not worth the risk at the interview stage.
In ten days, it will be 6 months from my initial order and payment on my highwayman. I never receive updates from Mark unless I e-mail him. In mid/late june, I touched base and received "Oughta be coming up anytime now. I'll advise as soon as I know for sure though."
If the jacket they send...
Thanks a lot for the link. I vaguely recall reading the post when I was reading for some general Aero info. As it is, I'm not so sure it settles too much for me. The general consensus is that they are both not too bulky, and they are both warm.
Let me put it this way. If I'm outside in a...
I wanted to get some input. I am considering an Aero Highwayman for use in cold New York City weather (I have a light lambskin for 55 degrees F and above). As many know, the weather here in the winter is generally in the 25-35 range, and can get as low as the teens with some frigid winds...
