    Borsalino cap sizing.

Additionally, if any experts can look at the photo and give me some idea of how it'll look when worn then I'd be grateful. What I mean is, use your experience to tell me if it'll be a fuller cut or not (personally I want a pretty trim cap) and maybe direct me to a photo of what a hat of this cut...

    Borsalino cap sizing.

Hello all. I am interested in the green 8/4 seen here: http://www.bencrafthats.com/product.php?pid=89&subcname=Caps+%26+Berets But I'm unsure of which size to get. My head measures 23 1/4 inches (59cm) but they're sold in medium, large, etc. I'm not sure that I can trust the sizing...

    NEWS BOY CAPS

Can someone tell me how well these caps hold out in rain? Will they keep my hair dry through a downpour or just light drizzle?

Replacement brass buckles for Barbour jacket.

The buckle at the second link is the right shape, and unless my eyes deceive me is more of a 'yellow' shade which is what I'm after. The only issue is that I also need a closely matching smaller version for the neck strap. The pins might be too fat for the holes too.

Replacement brass buckles for Barbour jacket.

I think shiny, unpainted brass would look good. The belt is 2 inches in width and the neck strap 1 inch. It's proving hard to find the right buckle in the right sizes. STW, did you manage to find the right sort of shape buckle? I am thinking it's best to stick with the rectangular buckle...

Replacement brass buckles for Barbour jacket.

A bit of a shot in the dark this... I got a leather Barbour International jacket and I really like it, but the buckles I feel are a bit cheap and substandard. There are of course buckles on the waist belt and on the smaller neck strap. I'd really like to get some brass buckles for these two...

Did they really punch out their straw hats at the end of the season?

These people worked hard in their hats. I doubt if they were fit for use come next spring/summer, and I doubt if they cost much to begin with.

    Panama Hat Thread

Oh, there's certainly more to a hat than weave count, but I want to know what various grades actually look like before I decide how high I should go, and your photos are good enough to make a judgement from. It's got to be more than 19.

    Panama Hat Thread

^ Looks good. I think I will end up getting a brim on the narrower side. Could you tell me the fineness specs for that hat? It would really help me decide what grade I should go for.

    Lindberg jacket, what type ?

The best president America never had. That jacket actually looks like it would offer little in the way of thermal insulation.

Zip or buttons on a custom Aero?

That's great! Now that in brown with a shoulder yoke would be ideal.

Zip or buttons on a custom Aero?

I would say go for buttons simply because I favour button-front jackets (which are relatively rare in leather compared to zip-front) and would like to see an aero jacket with buttons, as I plan to order one myself. I've always thought that buttons look a lot more refined than zips. I think...

Think you're man enough to handle a BarnStormer flyboy...? No wimps allowed!!

It looks like it fits perfectly. If Utah is cool enough now, could you get some more photos of you in it? I'd especially like to see how well it fits around the sleeve openings when you arms are raised. 'twould be educational. Until I saw this photo I had written off the Barnstormer as...

    Buying Used from Aero

The jackets always look so underwhelming on the mannequins, but this is a good reason why I shouldn't take much notice of that. Looks great.

    GREAT AERO half belt thread.

I think you just have to ask whether you like the look or not, rather than worrying how it's supposed to fit. Aero even offer a long halfbelt, so factoring in different heights of owners there are probably a lot of jackets which fit like yours. Personally, if I was getting a halfbelt (and I...

    Heavy leather and fit.

Ah. I didn't know these jackets were made with a panel of sorts on the side, like a sportcoat. I thought they were essentially a back piece and the two front pieces (like an indy jacket, and probably most others) I would typically ignore the seams when measuring because if you use the front...

    Aero Bootlegger, with buttons?

Yes. A button shank will ensure that there is enough space between the button and the leather for the button to be manipulated through the button hole (which also must not be tight) rather than sitting firmly against the jacket, hard to lift or manoeuvre.

    Heavy leather and fit.

I guess I am slightly confused by which seam you mean. For me, armpit to armpit is seam to seam. I'm talking about the seam up the side. Right across between the two side seams, where they meet the arm, would represent one half of the jacket.

    Heavy leather and fit.

Thanks. Roughly four inches of comfort room. Peacoat, I always measure my items right across from armpit to armpit, which when doubled gives the complete circumference of the chest. For jackets with a seam right up the side, (like most leather jackets) the measurement is taken between these...

    Heavy leather and fit.

That's probably how I'd do it too if I was ordering from aero, but I'm looking at used jackets. I'd be much obliged if you could give me your chest measurement as well as the pit-to-pit on your aeros. Knowing how much extra space you can get away with having on an aero jacket before it looks too...
