Okay, thanks for the info everyone.
I am not really sure what you call the specific type of hide my jacket it made out of, I just was told it was called shearling/sheepskin.
Pics....
I love my shearling jacket, but I am always cautious not to wear it when its raining or snowing.
I worry that I will stain the leather or stress the material.
Are my worries unfounded, how do these jackets hold up with this kind of weather?
For reference, its high quality shearling...
I can't even come close to affording one of these now. There are some B3's (whatpriceglory) in the $350.00 range, but Irvin's seems to be quite a lot more expensive comparatively.
It will be many year before I can budget one of these jackets. (I am currently a student)

Here's some info I stumbled across too, might be something you want to consider.
(On traditional A2's)

WOW, I am in love with this style....
Is there a version available that has a more blended zipper? One that doesn't contrast so much with the rest of the jacket?

Was this an option when you bought your jacket?
This is my first vintage purchase, and I think I got a great deal.
VINTAGE SAWYER OF NAPA SHEARLING,
Bought for $140.00 (can) shipped of ebay. Its defiantly real shearling and the quality and condition are just amazing.
What do you guys think? I will take some pics of me wearing it...
