Dobbs cloth
This particular shirt had a label inside that said "Dobbs cloth." I once saw a shirt at Nordstrom with the same label. The only single thing I found about "dobbs cloth" from a google search on the internet was from a 1960's newspaper, (presumably from an advertisement.)- luxman

When I was in college, I worked for a very traditional men's clothing store in the Washington DC area. The owner had some shirts that he referred to as "Dobbs cloth," which, he maintained, would last forever. I bought one, and he was right, it lasted an extremely long time, only wearing out 30...- luxman
