Rank and Patches on Military Jackets - Might I Offend a Veteran?
I would like to get a McCoys. i know they made the jackets for the series. However, their jackets are way out of my price range. I'll probably end up getting a US Wings horsehide A-2. Won't be down-to-the-stitch accurate, but it will be good enough for me. -

Great thread! I am looking to create a 506 PIR (Band of Brothers) A-2. I just ordered a chest patch for that. My guideline is not to use insignia of units still in existence. While the 506th was disbanded after WWII, the 101st Airborne is still active and I will leave that patch off of the... -

By legitimate, I mean absolutely authorized, but not necessarily issued. Something that wouldn't raise the eyebrows of any superiors. The A-2's in BoB showed unit patches and name tapes placed similarly to those I've seen on AAF personnel. They were also worn during a night march scene, which...- Odysseus

I am going through the exceptional series "Band of Brothers" for the hundredth time. I am curious about the A-2's (and B-3's for that matter) that I see the officers and a couple of the NCO's donning in that show. Shirt article
I don't know if the article mentioned whether these shirts were off the rack, but many high end shirts are tailor made much as a suit would be. Could this be the case?- Odysseus
