I see I will definitely ask Greg for the A2 shoulders.
My mock up jacket doesn’t have any zippers at the wrist. Maybe that’s why it’s loose right now. Will bring it up with Greg and see what he thinks.
Thanks a lot for the input!
Yes I have gone over different versions of the original and there is definitely a lot of variance. I figure I should stick with the TMC version instead of trying of blend the different elements together.
If stock sizing could fit me. I would definitely just get the TMC version be done with it...
Wow, I completely missed that the chest pockets are actually slightly slanted instead of horizontal, and I didn't notice the French seams at the lower panel either. Thanks for pointing those out!
Regarding the diagonal lines, do you think the shoulders might be too small? Greg made the...
Hello everyone,
I have recently received the mock-up jacket of the Beck 666 from Greg, and I'm looking for some feedback on the fit before moving forward with the final leather jacket. Here are some changes I'm considering discussing with Greg:
1. The back length seems fine, but the front...
Hello everyone, I am currently in the process of ordering a jacket from Field Leather. I want to create a reproduction based on the Beck 666 jacket, which is similar to Greg's Route 66 model. I am trying to confirm the modifications that have been made to the default Route 66 model to make it as...
I wrote a post about that jacket. You can check it out.

Not much information was given by the maker except its cowhide. As far as I can tell it’s good quality with decent thickness.
When I ordered last year his price were around 600USD using his in house leather. I supplied my own leather for this cross zip though which he charged around 350usd.
He focuses mainly on the Chinese market so doesn’t have a website. Maybe try contacting him through email zb_24@126.com
I have the aero hooch hauler and indeed the sleeves on it are kind of wide. The premier half belt I have has slimmer sleeves. (Also narrower shoulder). Maybe consider a premier bootlegger with a custom chest pocket to achieve a similar look as the hooch hauler.
So for a vintage jacket if one wants to cover discoloration on the wrist etc should I just use a bit of similar colored urad alone?
Not sure where I could get urad though. Does Fiebings have anything similar to urad?
I have VSC too but I can only get the natural color. Not sure if they do different colors. The saphir crème has a little dye/pigment in it so I figured I might be a little better for hiding marks. Before the crème I use VSC/ renovator for conditioning if I feel the leather is dry. Renovator...
Does anyone have experience using this Saphr crème to restore jackets?
It’s mainly used for boots and dress shoes. It works well to mask light scuffs and to give it a light shine for boots in my experience.
Can’t get urad where I am at. The Saphr is probably quite similar?
Unfortunately I don’t have access to these products at where Im located. Mainly fiebing’s stuff is available. Seems like tan kote and resolene are quite similar and should work I guess
I personally do not use the chest pocket at all . It’s just bothers me with how it looks visually. It’s shaped like a used hand pocket with a bit a sag.
I see. Maybe the pattern with action back helps a bit.
The new c2s I’m looking at are longer in the body at around 23.5”. Maybe yours is a custom or just the older ones are cut shorter?
Newbie question here. I made a design mistake when I was getting a custom jacket made which I decided to not use a zip on the chest pocket.
When the jacket is new the pocket looks fine but as the jacket becomes more broken in the pocket kind of deformed and constantly pops open which bothers...
@dudewuttheheck I think I read in your review that your vanson is a sz 38? If so does it have a p2p of about 21” and back length at around 23.5”? With your chest at 41.5 does it feel restrictive at all?
