It's kind of hard to find Pond's cold cream here in Singapore so I've been using the Avene on and off, though it costs about four times as much. It feels lighter than Pond's and isn't so oily, so it takes fewer wipes to get off.
However, that doesn't really justify its immensely scarier price...
Thanks! I'd ordered from them before and the cost of shipping back then was $32.25 as well. At first I wondered if this $60+ thing was a souped-up UPS service that cost double or if there was some kind of extra insurance, but the amount of time it took to arrive was exactly the same and there...
I placed my order roughly a week and a half ago and it arrived today. Everything was in good condition, except for one snarl: When I placed the order, I paid over $60 for shipping, but on the box today it says that shipping was $32.25. Is this some strange UPS thing, or should I be asking for a...
I'm not sure if anyone will agree, but I think HP Lovecraft's works can be rather evocative, and not just of slimy tentacled things. His descriptions of New England architecture and social relations - say, in The Case of Charles Dexter Ward or The Whisperer in Darkness - are quite pleasantly eerie.
The same thing happened when I made my last order a few months ago and I suppose I put it down to them having to ship it all the way to South-East Asia. I had to email them several times to get the tracking number and even then it took a while.
I placed another order round about last week and...
I don't know as much about them as I'd like, but I studied Russian history in university and had the sheer insanity to learn Russian in a year to read the archival sources.
I have a kind of tragic admiration for Zasulich and the other women revolutionaries of the period: Alexandra Kollontai...
Are you referring to Shu Uemura? I've yet to try their lashes but as an Chinese woman I've had no problems with Nyx and Ardell. In fact I think most Asian women here in Singapore use Ardell, since it's the most affordable and easily found.
There are some Asian brands such as Dodo Club and...
Hi! I've got another friend from Singapore on the Lounge as well, I think. He's far more hardcore than I am.
Vintage fashion here seems to concentrate more on the '60s onwards so you get many Western-style dresses but fewer Chinese pieces. Another vintage favourite seems to be Peranakan...
I'm certainly guilty as charged. I think there was an added push to vintage in my case because Asian interpretations of goth - such as Gothic Lolita styles in Japan - seem to have a strong historical element to them. Many of the frocks have Victorian or Edwardian accents, for instance. While I...
Sorry if I'm coming in a bit late here, but I just had to get this off my chest...
Argh! I'm so jealous! I had my navel pierced when I was 18 and it healed pretty rapidly, but it gave me a world of trouble with my gothy corsets. Eventually the corsets won and the piercing became history. It...
Hello,
I'm Rachel from Singapore, I'm shy and like to hide in small corners so I've been mostly lurking. I started out goth but somehow "mellowed" into vintage over the past few years (if "mellowed" is the right word) and I've learnt so many tips and tricks here!
I'm mostly into anything...
