I have both tobacco badalassi and battered steerhide. As mentioned the badalassi is very rich in colour but quite a bit heavier than the steerhide. The steerhide is also lovely and has more of a Matt look. If you want a better drape, I’d go for the battered steerhide
Thanks very much. I’ve asked them this. They’re too busy to undertake alterations at the moment. So they’d send it out to me as is and then I would have to send it back to them at a later point when they have capacity.
Hi,
Bit of a lurker here. Thanks to everyone on this forum,I’ve gone from no leather jackets to three in just under a year.
Premier highwayman - tobacco badalassi
Aero A2 - battered steerhide
5 star M422a
I’ve seen the aero sale and seen a used 1950’s halfbelt in brown CXFQHH. With 25% off it...
Hi,
I am just like you. I found my way here via google and now have plans for more jackets than my bank balance can afford. I’m also the proud owner of a premier highwayman in tobacco badalassi. The leather is fantastic and photos don’t do it justice.
The PHWM is one of aero’s tighter fits so...
Any chance of some pics?
I’m going on holiday shortly to an area close to their showroom and was thinking of popping in to try a few jackets on. Just need to convince my wife to make a small detour
Hi, I’m thinking about buying an M422a and have been looking at both Aero and Eastman’s offerings.
there’s quite a price difference (c. £300) with the only difference that I can see being the aero offering is darker brown.
am I missing something or is there something that justifies the...
A bit of a thread resurrection.
I’m in a similar position to the OP, I have a Premier Highwayman ordered and just need to choose my leather. The choice is down to Badalassi and Seal Vicenza. Of the samples I have the Badalassi, is more shiny, has more grain and colour variation which I like...
Thanks all for your advice, it’s much appreciated. I spoke to Aero today and as they are on a 14-16 week lead time due to Coronavirus I thought it made sense to get my order in and then ask them to send me a sample of all the leathers mentioned here and some different linings so I can do as...
They have sent me some samples but to be honest I find it difficult to imagine what they’d look like as a full jacket. I’ve been looking at the various threads here to try and see some real life pictures as I find this a bit easier to see what the leather looks like in reality
Wow the Badalassi looks lovely. For some reason Aero don’t have it on their website so this is the first time I’ve seen it. I will call them tomorrow and ask about it. Thanks
Thanks very much, the sateen lining from Aero makes sense then as I think it’s the thinnest lining they offer. The battered steerhide was the leather I really wanted but the sample they sent me marked very easily so I worried it wouldn’t cope with a rucksack as I do about an hour of walking...
Hi
I’m a first time poster so please go easy on me. I’m just about to order my first Aero and after much deliberation I’ve decided on a premier highwayman. Now I just need to decide what leather I want.
I will be wearing the jacket to work, which involves quite a long walk with a rucksack so...
