I'm about 2 1/2 months away and getting very excited! Who else is getting married this year?
I'm getting married in Sept. and I'm having a mostly modern wedding with some vintage touches. My fiancé and I run the swing dance scene in Orange County and our wedding is going to be on the small side but after the reception we are going to have an after party dance open to everyone. I was...
Do any of you know where I could find some Art Deco inspired jewelry? I'm specifically looking for necklace/earring sets and similar hair combs for me and my bridesmaids. Nothing too expensive, especially since I need to buy 3 sets.
Thank you!
Nikki
I'm a vegetarian and have been for 3 years. My fiance was raised vegetarian and has never intentionally eaten meat. I became a vegetarian not long after we started dating to see if I could and I will never go back! I absolutely love it.
Thank you for the great advice. I never would have thought about re-silvering! I looked it up and there is someone right near me and the price is right so I think that is what I'll do.
Thank you again!

I just bought a beautiful 1920's (possibly earlier) vanity but the mirrors are a little foggy. Is it possible to have the mirrors replaced? Is that a bad idea? This is my first piece of antique furniture, hopefully it will be the first of many to come. Any advice would be greatly...
You need to be practical and comfortable if you are doing aerials. I don't suggest wearing heels definitely not blyers (I didn't know they were still around). For shoes wear something that is going to give you a nice solid landing like keds. As for clothing I would suggest wearing something...
I dance and I dance hard and the only way to keep my hair in place when I go vintage is a hair net. Starting with day old hair use setting lotion and set the curls the night before. I leave my curlers (pillow rollers work perfect) in until I absolutely have to take them out to ensure they are...
My favorite outfit is this beautiful 1930's blouse (the one in my avatar), my black high waisted a-line, and a beautiful pair of 1930's black pumps. I have lots of adorable dresses but the colors on the blouse always grab me.
Sizing Vintage Patterns
I have a stupid question... I've never used a pattern to sew anything and I have some great vintage patterns. What is the best way to determine my size? Anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you!
I have a vintage make up case filled with most of my grandmothers costume jewelry. Unfortunately it was given to me after her death so I never got to go through it with her. How do I determine the era of the pieces?
I was just wondering if anyone had been to this? I plan on going everytime it comes around and something always comes up. I will definately be there this time though.

The dates are Oct. 22-23. I hear that if you go on Sunday you get the best deals.
My name is Nikki and I've introduced myself once before. I am a professional Lindy Hopper and I also run a tiny vintage website consisting of items from the 20's to the early 50's. My passion is for the entire era: the dance, the music, the style, everything. I usually only dress vintage once...
I just tried pillow rollers for the first time and they worked fabulously. I highly recommend them if you have to sleep in curlers. They are like rags but they have a piece of foam in them. You can get them at Target.
Hi, my name is Nikki and I am sooo excited that there is a forum dedicated to the things I love the most! I am a pro Lindy Hop instructor, Dj, competitor and performer out of Orange County, CA. My partner and I teach lessons a couple times a week and we run dances twice a week. If any of you...
