Hi guys... just finished (for the most part) my winter season hat naptha bath... thought I'd post some comments and have a question myself...
So I used 3 gallons of Crown white gas, bought at Walmart in the camping section... I wanna say I paid in the $13-14 range per gallon (3 cans). I don't...
Okay, I have an ebay gripe, and a question about their policy/procedures.
So, I had a hat for sale, at what I thought was a fair price ($75). It was a nice hat, just didnt look good on me. So I set it at what I got it for at auction, plus $10-$15.
This guy (gogostanwinston98) started...
Oh wow! I didn't realize you could upsize that much!! That's so cool! And nice having a pro hatter to go to for stuff like that!! My regards to Ignacio!
Funny this topic has come up now... I view him as quite the nemesis on Goodwill... just two weeks ago he snatched up at least 7 hats I had been watching/bidding on in 5 auctions... at a cost of almost $500... that was a rare week, but I do find myself at odds with him quite often... I don't...
Yeah MJL, I know how you feel... I was thru there almost a year ago and saw pretty much the same things... I did pick up 2 Strats, but I would call them seconds... they did, however do a bang-up job cleaning and blocking for me... I guess the days of discovering gems at the outlet are over:(
Beautiful!! The ol' ribbon-in-the-sweatband again!! I'm gonna post another pic of the inside sweat of the Mallory I've got... its just a really cool feature...
Hey Bob... been meaning to reply for a awhile now... sorry for the 6-mos. delay, lol... I did win this beauty... an absolutely gorgeous hat, though I didn't realize it might be from the 30's... my hat-dating skills are in their infancy... anyway, it cleaned up very nicely via white gas method...
And I do believe I would be the "someone new who is unfamiliar with all the fun..."
Very interesting... I was coming in from a different direction, investigating a pattern I'd noticed elsewhere... and then found this, which explains a lot... Thanks for continuing the thread Daniel and gentlemen!
So I see now that SE (sage) doesn't have a quality (Sovereign, Royal, etc) on the sweatband, but it DOES say Royal on the liner... the other one doesn't say much at all, but the sweatband is much nicer, softer... interesting... anyone out there have any Strat SE knowledge? (Yeah, I know, I'm...
Well I’ve joined the Stratoliner club, gentlemen (and ladies)… I made my pilgrimage to the Stetson Outlet in Garland, TX this past weekend. It was not the Candyland I had been hoping for (just a little, I’ve read all the other accounts here).
My impressions:
It is very much an actual “outlet”...
Since I'm calender-challenged, I initially thought labor day was last weekend... my trip is actually this weekend... I appreciate all the comments thus far, but will ask for any last minute advice?
Thanks guys... I'm headed to Irving (from Arkansas... Garland is on the way) this weekend... not sure I'll get the chance to stop... think I'll put together a list of what I might be looking for... I don't know if I'll have more than an hour...
