Sorry, MK. I have family in town. I doubt if I can make it but I'll let you know if I can. I'll be free on Friday ... if you're still in town. Perhaps Buchanan's?
I have a LW A-2. I like it ... but if your goal is comfort ... go elsewhere. The hide is too thick. It may be bullet proof ... but who really needs an A-2 to be that anyway? The 2.5 to 3 oz hide that others offer is plenty tough. Besides old Stu rubs me the wrong way. I think he bullies people...
You know who is really to blame for this? Us. Americans. Even more specifically Californians. It's the Californication of the entire planet. Good or bad, depends on one's perspective ... although I do sometimes think society is becoming way too casual.
And yes, I am not wearing a tie in my...
These are produced only in limited numbers ... that is why they are so insanely expensive. They are a boutique item sold only in high end retail stores and probably won't be at Target anytime soon. If you are able to find them and are lucky enough to find your size, it's worth considering. The...
Personally, I know of only one here that does ... and he will have to pipe up himself if he wants to be identified.
For me, a t-shirt, sneaks, ball cap and jeans have their place. I do not limit myself.
Reality check people ...
Just because a person admires the style and qualities of German Army uniforms does not make them a racist or insensitive ... any more than wearing a leather jacket and fedora makes you a great adventurer. People are carrying political correctness way too far. One day...
Ah, Michaelson ...
Blessed are the peacemakers ...
Sorry, not my intention to offend. Just speaking off the cuff. Chalk it up to American arrogance. It's just the fact that our government lately is slowly chipping away at our rights in the name of "Homeland Security" and doing an...
Richard Reed, the shoe bomber, tried to give himself a hotfoot with MATCHES. The ONE thing that isn't banned. It boggles the mind. Your government at work folks.
They wore 13 3/4 oz. cotton shirts in India? Holy Moley! No wonder they lost the Jewel in the Crown. Nice shirt French ... and there's an Orvis store near me too ... :clap
I don't see any "meaningful improvement" in the "quality" of this conversation.
As in life, if you choose to believe as such, there is one higher power that might overide my decision ... but if or until that happens ... I'm shutting this down.
It's a sad state of affairs. Regretably, there are a couple of jackets I still want from them that I can't get now. Ah well, there are other companies who will gladly take my money.
Maybe a British Army Jerkin? Is this what you mean? They were worn, obviously, for protection from the elements in the field of battle but were designed without arms for freedom of movement
I was on a cruise a couple of years ago and the staff told me there was an old lady on board doing just this. Living on the ship and cruising around the world full time. Not a bad life. Not bad t'all.
I'm afraid you're out of luck on that one son. Even I, who has spent considerable money there and have been a long time customer, get turned down for custom work. They now only do what is in their catalog, no variations or custom work. They won't even sew their own patches on their own jackets...
