Hello all,
It’s been a while. I exhibited at the Bike Shed Moto Show in London the weekend before last, and the lead up to it and aftermath was total chaos. Sleep? Who needs sleep?
A few updates:
I’ve been working with the tannery to develop both the black and brown bison. The black will...
So… flat donut buttons are in. Currently working on the first Type 1 for a customer in the States. They’ve never been my favourite, but I’m starting to warm to them and excited for us to try something new. I’m keeping it classic… I really don’t want it to end up looking like a certain other...
That’d be fantastic. I’d love for you to come and check them out. I’m based in East London, not too far from Stratford. Drop me a line to let me know when you’ll be in the area!
Also… Going to switch the RW label to the white version and I’ll probably just have it sewn straight into the lining rather than onto a patch of leather. Button hunting continues…
I was about to post an update but @MrProper has beaten me to it!
I’ve been working on designing a D-Pocket for the last few weeks. I listened to those of you who preferred shoulder gussets and so I added an action back. The hide is the same that I used for the trucker. It’s around 1.7-1.9mm...
That's a beautiful jacket. Love the back. I don't think this should be a problem. I'm actually working on a suede version of the trucker at the minute. Drop me a line at info@ruggedwest.co and we'll run through a few things together. Looking forward to it!
Also - I'll add topstitching to the shoulders for the men's jackets and leave it out for the women's.
Hope everyone's having a great day! Thanks for the suggestions too - it's a huge help.
Morning,
Glad you like the jacket. If you're after shoulder gussets and no belt, it shouldn't be a problem at all. I wonder if including shoulder gussets are the preference for the general consensus here? If so, perhaps I'll alter the pattern completely for the men's perfecto style.
Hi all,
Found this thread by chance after I dropped a line to Jon (@leatherjacketjawn) on IG last night. I didn't manage to get to the end of the comments as it was pretty late (but just knowing that a thread had been created for RW meant I stared at the ceiling for a good hour before I managed...
Hey all,
I purchased this jacket last year from the Schott store in New York’s East Village and just haven’t worn it because it comes up a little too long for my short torso. It’s the 536W in waxy cowhide. Think I may be better off with the 218W.
It’s brand new. Still have the tags. Can’t fly...
Having an Autumn clearout! This one needs a new home as it's far too big for me. It's in pretty immaculate condition. Identical to the famous Lightning jacket. Really gorgeous natural grain on some of the panels.
Will fit chest size 38". I'll grab the specific measurements soon.
Asking for 190GBP
