First you need to decide whether you need oxfords (to go with a suit) or bluchers to wear with odd pants and an odd jacket and can be dressed down.
Brands I like Alden (Plaza last is sleekest). Crockett & Jones 348 last may be what you're looking for in their benchmade collection. Edward Green...
I have one leather jacket (Thedi buffalo). I lay it on the floor of my walk in closet under my pants hangers. I'm actually concerned that hanging it will deform the shoulders no matter the hanger.
I think this is due to shoulder slope differences between the jacket and the wearer. It can happen on tailored jackets, but more frequently appears in the form of a collar roll on the back. The problem with block patterns is they are made for the median wearer. If you have square shoulders or...
I have a Thedi in buffalo. It's a heavy and relatively stiff leather, but not as stiff as some horse I've tried on. It seems pretty pliable fast. I've never worn Thedi's other hides, so I can't compare specifically.
In my experience, for someone with wider shoulders/chest compared to torso length, custom sizing is the way to go.
I was between sizes in the style I chose, needing a large in the shoulders and chest, but a medium in the waist and body/sleeve length. That said, the upcharge for custom sizing...
Looking forward to a writeup about the experience and your reviews of their craftsmanship and artistry.
I have to say, I love mine. Very precise stitching IMO. Several jackets with unique takes on the classics.
I wonder if they recognize the irony of the brand name when Chinese textile and apparel companies pay so little, have terrible working conditions, and the workers are prohibited from forming independent trade unions. Only government sponsored CCP unions are permitted and they don't represent the...
I have a Thedi jacket, because I wanted a Thedi design. They are riffs off of traditional jackets, but not entirely replica jackets from a time period. As they say with tailoring, don't ask Huntsman to make a drape cut or Anderson and Sheppard to cut a sharp coat. Don't ask Thedi to make...
I think it's probably between an inch or two long in the body, and an inch too long in the sleeves, particularly the left. If you ride, you might keep the sleeves at that length, but if it's just a casual jacket, shorten the arms.
Chest and shoulders look good to me. For a normal person, I'd...
Length looks good. Keep your shirt tucked in.
I don't really like the way the leather folds at your shoulders. I don't know if it's a pitch issue or if the shoulders are too wide, but I don't like the jacket's fit for that reason.
This is one of the coolest jackets I've ever seen and I've looked at it a lot on-line in different pics. I just don't know if I'd be able to pull it off. I keep thinking, maybe if the body shearling was on the inside it would be easier to wear.
Joan Jett and I have a lot in common. Big time Orioles fan. And, she has lived where I grew up for most of the past 50 years. Long Beach, NY. The Runaways were considered a Long Beach band for the most part. At least that's what we all said.
This was my Thedi the first day after I bought it. I don't have any recent pics now that it's a little more broken in.
It is definitely wearable. Yes it looks expensive. But, the key is it fits. That's number #1 for any clothes. I'm only 5'7" 165. I can't wear things that are too big or I...
