I got these from Faith last week in the sale - £25. Bit of a bargain. Mine are red though...
I think they're a bit 40'sish - and surprisingly comfortable, which is always good! ;)
I bought this off of ebay recently, and I'm totally in love with it:
I absolutely love it...but I wore it swing dancing the other night and have managed to tear a hole in the underarm :( rubbish
Do you know what? I'm just rubbish at dieting. I'll start a diet, fail miserably after a couple of days because they're all too restrictive, and then feel so crap about myself for failing that I end up eating more rubbish. It's a vicious cycle I've been in for years :(
And I'm not even...
Hi Inky, thanks so much for the nice comments!
I used a cotton fabric I found in the bargain bin too! You can't really see from the picture, but it has the cutest circus-themed print all over it. I didn't want to use anything expensive, in case I totally messed it up...but the cotton creases...
Aww, I love Goodnight Sweetheart - I used to watch it when I was younger, and they've just been re-running it on one of the ITV channels recently. I prefered the earlier ones though, with Dervla Kirwan as Pheobe.
Aww, thanks ladies :D
I used a Sense & Sensibility pattern
I've got lots of vintage patterns that I've slowly collected from Ebay, but I'm so scared to use them cause they're quite brittle! This one was really easy to follow too - although, not very accurate. I think it's hand drawn...
If you are heading to Brick Lane, there's a few other shops along the main market street that are amazing, but also try heading down some of the side streets that are a bit quieter and there are some lovely vintage shops. There's also an undercover marked on Brick Lane - not sure what it's...
Yay! Congratulations! I'm totally in the same boat as you - I've just put down a deposit on a hair and make up for film course - something I've been dreaming about forever...and I finally just decided to do it instead of thinking and worrying about it all the time! I'm so excited!
Good luck...

I've never tried that 'glitzy' stuff, just the plain original one. It does make your lips tingle a bit when you apply it though, which doesn't really bother me - but one of my friends freaked out when I used it on her once! lol
99% of the time I get lovely comments from the ladies - they say that I look lovely! Very pleasing, when you've spent 2 hours doing your hair and make up. There's the occassional bitchy groups of teenage girls who whisper and give me dirty looks. I just tell myself that they're jealous!
The...
Hmm, maybe I'll try pillow rollers - I can curl my hair with a straightening iron and get a similar effect to pin-curls, but it absolutely ruins my hair! My hairdresser tells me off about all my split ends...
I recently started ballet, and I've noticed an improvement in my cellulite, which used to be quite bad...and I'm only 25! Bloody annoying, but I eat really healthy and drink loads of water, so I really think it's just my tough luck!
Ooh, and I cut out (most of) the cheese that I eat. I used...
Thanks for the heads up about the thread on lipsticks...my Chanel one is running though, and it costs a lot!
I tend to just apply one coat of lipstick using a brush, then immediately put the sealer on - but only a really light coat, because otherwise it takes a long time to dry and then you...
Ha ha, I thought so! It is a really nice lipstick though...
The She Laq stuff does dry out your lips a bit, but most make up sealers seem to do this - I think that's the choice you have to make for staying power! I use it because I hate getting that bit on the inner part of your lips without...
I'm a previous forum skulker, now a newbie! Decided to pluck up the courage to start posting!
I'm fascinated by the 1940s, particularly the war era, and have been for sometime now...I try to dress in the style every day, and am slowly building up a collection of vintage clothing (costing a...
I had to reply to this thread, cause today I'm having major pin-curl rage!
My hair's rubbish, and I've tried quite a few times to curl it with pin-curls, setting lotion and all, and it just doesn't seem to work! I'm getting a bit peeved to be honest...
This morning, one side was...
Right, this is my first ever post! I'm a huge red lipstick fan, so had to reply to this thread...
I also exfoliate my lips with a toothbrush, then I use my usual facial moisturiser (Clinique dramatically different) on my lips. I use vaseline at night, but not before applying lipstick cause...
