I'm on LJ! I don't post on there very often at all anymore, but I'm on there at the_midgetqueen.livejournal.com
Also, my Blogspot blog (which I do still update regularly) is syndicated at midgetqueenfeed.livejournal.com.
My favorites are Chanel No. 5 (I'll NEVER actually afford a bottle with my current job!), and Auric Blends' Egyptian Goddess perfume oil which is only about $10 for a roll-on bottle that lasts forever and always gets me a zillion compliments.
Am curious about Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, but...
Johanna, I'm the_midgetqueen on Livejournal. I don't use the site all that much anymore, but I would like to add you as a friend on there if that's OK? I started admiring your photos when was just a lurker on this site. I like your style and you seem to be a very interesting person!
I've already told my boyfriend and my parents that I want to be cremated and then incorporated into a pyrotechnics display. And that if I have one of those long, arduous paid obituaries that details my whole life, or if my funeral is boring, I'm coming back and haunting someone! They're to hire...
Holy cow!
Maybe I'm just a freak and maybe there's another factor at work here that I'm missing, but I have not increased my water intake all that much, as I drink loads anyway (at least 3-4 liters a day), and I have only increased my exercise a little bit. But for the past two days I have been...
Amy Jeanne: Rick Astley! You totally win!
(I am having such a hard time not making some kind of Rickroll'd joke right now.)
Speaking of which, he's decided to go on tour again, in case you're interested. His decision was, apparently, inspired by the whole Rickrolling thing. Behold the...
donCarlos: Oh, absolutely, of course! I'm not sure how many other nations besides the US divide themselves up--I know Canada's got provinces, Japan's got prefectures, but... other than that, I'm shamefully undereducated. Please do participate, and proudly so!
I'm actually gonna go edit my...
Dude! Don't forget Mark Twain!
And a few feminist first that make my little heart happy:
Claire McCaskill, the first woman elected U.S. senator from Missouri
Nellie Tayloe Ross (1876–1977), first female governor of a U.S. State
You've also got Atty. General John Ashcroft.
And...
I know I'm not going to win this one, but it should still be fun and informative. I propose that we pit a good-natured competition to see whose state/province/commonwealth/prefecture/region/etc. (be it where you were born/raised, or where you currently reside--I'm not picky!) has the richest...
I like 40's fashion best, but tend to gravitate more to 50's because it's easier to find. But this doesn't please me, both aesthetically and ideologically. I find 40's clothes quite flattering, in general, and also, as a feminist, I like the era much better. The 40's were a (relatively)...
I'm a mutt too! Part German, part English, part French (Mom's side. That part of my family was among the Huguenots who came to America 'cause they didn't want to be Catholic. I've got rebel-blood from way back!), part Scotch (I'm directly descended from the Dunbar clan on my Dad's side--very...
Mine's simple, really. I'm really short. My big brothers always used to call me Midget when I was younger. I added the "queen" bit because, well, really, why not? We can consider ourselves royalty if we darn well please.
I just bought and used an epilator last night for the first time (Legs and underarms). Painful, but not so much as I'd expected. But it took forever and didn't catch all the hair! What d'you do with the hair it leaves? Does it just take a few times' use to get it all at first? Do I just need to...
I have needed corrective lenses since second grade, and have been pretty much unable to wear contact lenses since I was 15 thanks to scar tissue from a corneal ulcer (Yes, that was every bit as painful as it sounds.). Keep your contact lenses very, very clean and don't sleep in them, kids!
At...
That hat reminds me of the old Dr. Seuss book, 'Gertrude McFuzz!'
Love the book, but the hat is a tad much. Tone down some of the extraneous plumage and wear with an updo, though, and it'd have been fabulous. I just think that, generally but not always, hats look better with updos.
Am finishing up The Slaughter-House Five. Wish I'd discovered Vonnegut sooner.
Previous to this, I finally got around to reading Their Eyes Were Watching God.
