Very insightful. Thank you very much kittyhawk! That must be one hell of a jacket! Thanks for the information. So now we can establish that the "General" zipper was used since at least 1973. Still wondering which company made it though... I think it has some resemblance to Talon zippers...- bythesea

For an estimate, I'd say it's around a kilo (three to four pounds) or so? Not light, nor close to heavy in my opinion.
