Looking at these caps, makes me think Stew has more than one pattern. It's not really apparent from the photos I took a few pages back, but my cap seems to be more dome-like. I did specify I wanted a wider fit though. I really do like look of some the recently posted caps and this is why I...
Nice caps Eric! I've always enjoyed the way you take pics with the pine tree and snow in the background.
I have a few more - 3 or 4 - that I've collected since last posting this summer. I need to spend some time doing some reviews now that winter is almost setting in.
I love Monsivais' 8/4 design. Have a few in various denim (all season?) and a few without lining (summer) and only cotton tape. I prefer the way the size of the crown and the cap's drape with the lining.
@Feraud Nice cap!
@dkstott - I think this is what you're looking for...

Let's do another... I've got like 3 or 4 more to do...
So in the past I've had some issues with communication with Monsivais and Co. However, I just love his 8 panel design - The National with associated fabric options and had been wanting something in denim for the warmer months. I discovered...
Keep on pumpin' 'em out...
Next up is...
During last late winter, when I was initially selecting fabrics from Simonds for a summer based 8 panel, I couldn't decide what to go with for a few weeks. I was going back and forth and actually got the wife involved in the selection process. I usually...
I've been buying caps from bespoke makers as of late and I wanted to see if I could find something similar in style to the 20s-30s 8 panel, but from a larger hat company. From reading these forums, I've been seeking out a Jonathan Richard cap because I've read about the quality, etc. One day...
Soooooo... after reading through this thread for a bit from the beginning I saw a common cap maker mentioned and thought I'd give it a shot. The look of the cap in pictures looked very close to what I was looking for and the price was very reasonabble. $50 shipped for a custom cap from...
So this is the first of 5 or 6 or 7 reviews... I'm going to start with something interesting -- at least for me. There's a moment where you see some fabric and think that would make a great cap. That moment was last winter when my wife bought what was supposed to be dish towels at Ikea. Instead...
That's a lovely cap @Nico. It suits your look. I believe I have a few more reviews to do -- about 5 or 6 I reckon. Been collecting, but not posting about them.
Wore this today... It's too warm for this cap (merino wool) and my typical sweaty head, but it's new from Mister Miller (mistermiller.co.uk) so I figured why not. I'm loving it thus far and I feel like it really achieves the perfect "peaky blinders" look!
I'd call the shown style a flat cap. It does look like 8 panels without the button. But the look to me looks like a variation on an ivy.
After going on an excessive binge, I've tried a bunch of different caps from larger companies and even a few more from the mom and pop type hatmakers. This is...
Like I previously stated, I waited a bit over two months for delivery. To grease the wheels, I opened a case with PayPal. I had emailed Stew directly about 4 or 5 times before doing so. Even with health issues, an email expressing so, would have eased up my need to go through PayPal for a...
@Short Balding Guy - I still don't get how you wear wool caps in the late spring going into summer. I know you're in MN, but doesn't your head get hot. I have a hard enough time with a leather band and lighter materials and my head starts to sweat. I'm thinking of doing the quiet man style cap...
@drmaxtejeda - that is fantastic! Can't wait to see your other cap you bought from Keith. I've said it before... my wife would kill me if I bought another leather cap. I'm wondering how the cap is in warmer temperatures. I've acquired a few spring / summer caps as of late and even with the...
