I've been growing my hair out from a pixie since last June. It's finally getting long enough to do stuff with.
I tried rag curls last week and had a major, unruly mess that I had to wash out. This week I decided to try pin curls.
I'm pretty happy with how my first attempt turned out:
The other day I was at an open house and I was wearing a 40s inspired outfit and of course it was not complete without the red lipstick ;)
I past by an older lady and smiled at her and the look in her eyes said it all. She had a huge smile on her face, I could just see her reminiscing about...
I'm so glad I found this thread! I started knitting last winter and just picked it up again and this has really encouraged me to work harder and finish my scarf :) everything looks so lovely!
I just bought this amazing piano book! 51 Songs of WWII
This book is full of popular songs from the 40s. It has a difficulty rating of 5 on a scale 1-6, which is pretty accurate.
There is another version with just the right hand, so if you were trying to learn piano I guess this would be...
I'm Confused
Ok, how long is too long for pin curls?
I asked my nana, who used to do pin curls for all of her relatives, and she told me my hair was way too long
(my hair is slightly passed my shoulders).
But, I don't understand how the length could be too long considering when I...
I'm trying
I've got to get into some sort of habit before I go off to college (I want and need to avoid the dreaded freshman 15)!!!

I wore my hair in rag curls with a bandana to the fireworks on the 4th.
I figured it would be better than getting weird looks.
One morning, I went through the drive-thru at Tim Hortons with my hair in rag curls
and an old man was staring at me through the window with the most...
My all time favorite is the P-51 Mustang!

The 4th one was my favorite; it was put together very nicely. I think it is amazing to actually see what happened.
It makes one realize that the people in the uprising and all the battles of WWII were real
and they were willing to die for what they believed in.
These videos truly bring...
Beginthebeguine- Thank you! No, it isn't vintage; I fell in love with it when I saw it- probably because it looked vintage. I actually got it at Macy's on sale for like $20! :)
Freebird and SweetieStarr- Thank you both for your kind comments! ;)
I'm 18.
I have always been a huge history buff, even when I was younger. I used to drag my parents to reenactments and even managed to drag them to Gettysburg! :eusa_clap
WWII is my main interest, especially at this point of my life. I love the music. I'm still trying to master those darn...
