Yes, make it women only - this is the main issue for me here on FL. I'd love to be more involved in future.
Again, support for everyone identifying as women, regardless of birth sex.
Ladies, prepare to want pretty much every single thing you see in these truly amazing pictures:

Hello! Not quite Manchester but not too far away in Preston, Lorraine (of Swingaroo Vintage Dance Hall and the Swingaroo Sisters) will do you proud!
I believe her dressmaking Facebook page is 'Lorraine's Fabedashery'.
My mother was born in 1950 and hit her mod heyday in 1964 when she left school at 14 and started work in a lampshade factory - as she was still living with my nan she had more expendable income between 1964 and 1966 than any other point in her life, so that was the period when she spent most on...
That's very cool! I used to get my hair cut in a similar looking hairdressers called 'Pamela Anne' in Manchester - sadly the stylist I liked retired ;)
There is a closed down hair salon near where I live that is pretty much a time capsule, it features in this article...
Sale on Heyday Fleur dresses (Swirl style wraps) half price!
I'm not sure where I should've put this or if I'm breaking any rules (I'm not in anyway connected to or affiliated with Heyday, promise!) but felt it was only right to share that Heyday have reduced all of their Fleur dresses...
The Lindy Hop dancers of the 30's and 40's wore an array of flat shoes, including Ked type things and Saddle shoes and also low heeled shoes, like small wedges and tap shoe like Mary Janes...
I've read through all 83 pages of this thread (love Boardwalk Empire!) and really enjoyed many of the opinions - I am however, totally confused by all the cinema photos - pleasantly surprised to see the Essoldo (I live opposite and adore the building) but completely perplexed as to why it's in...
Hello! I think the generic term 'bendy rollers' might give you more search results.
Personally, I don't rate these (my hair is bra strap length) as I find it hard not to twist the hair as it rolls up - I'm better off with foam rollers/large perm rods/pin curls. They are also hard to sleep in...
I swim 2x a week and have built it into my hair setting routine :)
Night before a swim I brush out my set and put ojon in my hair to sleep. Wake up, go swim with ojon still in, shower it out and shampoo etc.
After that I blast my (ex Bettie) bangs with the dryer a bit then stick in 4 small...
Hello! I haven't been here for about 5 years but landed here after googling for info re: perms and vintage hairdos and noticed your thread.
I've seen these kits in Boots and they seem like a rip off, 5 rollers and 4 bobby pins (ish) for around £8 but I suppose they could be interesting for...
Gosh, I am so excited to find this site! I am now inspired to pluck my eyebrows in a classic 40's arch AND make another futile attempt at rolling my hair :D
I have so much to add to so many threads but I will bite my tongue and try really hard not to be the annoying newbie. You all seem so...
