I've been wearing my Sandal Brown Suede A1 Valstar for over a year now. It's been a great jacket, although I do not wear it as often as a leather jacket as I think it's a little more delicate. It is very high quality and I tend to get remarks about it most times I wear it.
I bought mine at...
Sorry, i'm a little late to the party but my Eastman 1401-P Rough Wear contract just arrived in the post from HPA and it's awesome. The jacket is great and pretty easy to wear (I'll get pics up soon... lol). Like others, I highly recommend ordering through History Preservation Associates since...
Great collection of jackets! How many people here wear whistles with their A-2s? I have an Eastman jacket arriving soon in the post and bought a whistle to go with it...
Agreed! And you could easily find a place that sells Schott in most places in the world. The pricing of Schott is above what some of the prices in the video mention... but certainly if you can spend $600 on a jacket, you could stretch the budget a bit more and get one for $1000.
I agree with ton312 -- the information on leather jackets is... non-existent in this video. It could have been made better to at least mention some of the high-end jacket makers.
I am mostly referring to the general education of men to ideas in correct style.
I should do some back peddling...
I'm a subscriber to his videos on YouTube and I generally think they are fine. Some are a bit off the wall. He audience is younger guys who would like to up their game in both style and confidence. I can appreciate that. In particular, his Alpha M Project sponsors viewers.
The fact that this...
I wore my new (at the time) Aero Hooch Hauler from Auckland to Zurich (Over 24 hours in the air)
No complaints and I wore it the entire time! It certainly was a great way to break it in.
Hi all,
I've been thinking about purchasing a jacket from Valstar, http://www.valstar.it/en/
In particular, I am interested in their classic suede Valstarino, in brown. It would be a great jacket for spring/summer in Auckland.
Has anyone had any experience with these jackets or the company?
I came here as well when interested in purchasing an Aero Hooch Hauler -- got some great advice.
With that advice in mind, I followed Holly's (from Aero) suggestions and the jacket turned out great.
However, I seem to have a "typically standard" figure -- perhaps it was all just luck :-)
I bought the hooch hauler in Black -- they're great jackets! Like you choice of footwear...
What kind of trouser goes best with the boots and jacket, aside from the obvious jeans?
Here it is!
I was sized for wearing a T-shirt and in the pic I'm wearing a very bulky hoodie. Still fits great.
Having worn the jacket a few times now, I prefer having the collar raised, rather than lowered as shown in the pic.
Hey all,
I posted back in June/July about the prospect of getting a jacket from Aero Leather. I'm not a biker or in any way associated with that scene but I wanted a high quality leather jacket... so I stayed well away from the actual motorcycle jackets on offer.
I went ahead with an order...
Thanks both for your detailed discussion on this. I am likely to go with the standard length, as Holly recommends. I measured some of my other leather jackets and they are 25 inches. I expect that, as you suggest, the shoulders will play a role in the final length of the sleeve, and that is...
I've been speaking to Holly about my Hooch Hauler order. I've been advised I am a size 38 based on chest and height measurements. I've been to the tailors where I get all my suits made and they have measured my sleeve at 25.5
(and adding 0.5) to give 26 inches. That was using a Burberry trench...
