Marcel, The felt color and finish are super. Same with the components and the overall workmanship. The location of Botta. Salorino Ticino, Switzerland, was not far from Intra / Ghiffa, Italy so there could possibly be a connection.- mayserwegener

Greg, Thank you! Yes, the sweatband is reeded on both sides. German and Austrian Stiff Felt Hats often have such sweatbands. The reed on the outer side of the sweatband creates a cushioning effect.- mayserwegener
