Show your graining
So I don't really know anything about what constitutes good grain, (or really what counts as grain in the first place) but my Vanson model B has started getting pretty gnarly. I don't know if this is a transitory state or what, but regardless of how it looks, it's a great jacket and I like it...- ERDM

What leather conditioner do you use?
I was planning to go with Aero but the price was just too steep for me to manage at the moment. Instead I ended up purchasing a very nice used Vanson Model B from the classifieds here. (Although that doesn't mean that I won't end up with an Aero jacket at some point. I definitely still want one)...- ERDM

What leather conditioner do you use?
I'm actually surprised that nobody has done such an experiment. I mean heck, we've now spent nearly 100 years measuring how fast pitch flows. I'd say the longevity and care of leather goods is more practical a subject than that.- ERDM

I have to admit that this subject is maddening. I've been all over the internet and back and so far in my reading I've seen people say the following with seemingly equal certainty: - You should never ever condition leather. - Don't even worry about it if it's younger than the average coffee...- ERDM

Hillside leather jackets...any owners here?
I seem to remember reading something in my initial online research about how they moved to Florida at some point, but were initially based in New Jersey or something like that. I just assumed that maybe their distribution warehouse was still in New York or something. This was to be my first...- ERDM

Their storefront is; That's where I called initially, and to where the Jacket was returned, but the tracking info for the original shipment shows that it originated in Brooklyn.- ERDM

It's funny though, there are a lot of threads and reviews on the internet singing Hillside's praises, and from what I can see there was a time when those praises were absolutely deserved. Just as an addendum to my first post... getting a refund from Hillside has become a headache. I've actually had to get paypal involved. It's hard not to feel like I'm no longer a priority to them now that I want a refund. They've had the jacket back in their possession for nearly 2 weeks now and...- ERDM

Hillside leather jackets...any owners here?
I wish I'd found this thread before I ordered a Hillsideusa horsehide cafe racer. It's heavy and the leather is 1.2mm as advertised, but I'm definitely returning it. The grain looks nothing like the horsehide swatch I got from them prior to ordering. I'd love to get some opinions from others who...- ERDM
