Latest consensus seem to be it's a Beau Breed . . . . Thanks for your input, much appreciated

Help needed identifying vintage Cafe Racer

Wow, thanks. I'm pretty broad across the chest and shoulders and some jackets make me look to wide but this seems a good fit -- flattering, one might almost say. I shall check out the movie! Thanks again

I've got teenage daughters and they love all that nonsense. Oooh glitter and a handmade card! No thanks.

Help needed identifying vintage Cafe Racer

Hahaha! Like a glove. I got it on ebay (.co.uk) from a seller I've used before. He has some nice stuff and hasn't disappointed me yet. Not one of those "friendly" etsy-ish sellers who send a lot of messages and extra stuff, but who cares? It's a bloke's leather jacket not a sparkly unicorn...

Help needed identifying vintage Cafe Racer

Hi all, here's one that's new to me. Can someone help me ID it? (Schott? Lesco? The label is missing but it has the cloth "Leathercraft Process of America" tag in the side hem) Leather is thinnish and stiffish with a plasticky sort of coating. I've treated it to some Renapur (the English...

Help needed identifying (vintage?) Danish clothing brand

Hello, About 20 years ago I bought a t-shirt in a charity shop in Norway. The inner label has long since come off (I think it was in Danish and had the Filson-esque motto "Trusted for generations") but the tag on the breast pocket is still affixed. (See photo; the logo is basically a kind of...

    Zip-pulls: vintage, novelty, quirky, cool?

Hello All Newish member here with a question: zip pulls -- does anyone here customise their jackets (esp. classic leather) or replace missing zipper pullers with vintage, novelty, quirky pullers? I only ask as I remember seeing on this very forum a very cool miniature flick-knife /...

    Cleaning an Aero jacket

Well, I gave the jacket the lightest smearing of Pecards and am very very pleased with the result: I won't be adding any more but it feels a little more supple and soft and lot more weatherproof. I think that because it had used on a bike it had maybe dried out a bit more than usual for a 4...

    Cleaning an Aero jacket

I think Barbour use large heated tables to re-wax jackets so everything is kept warm and smooth.

    Cleaning an Aero jacket

Thanks everyone, Pecards now applied in front of a blazing woodburning stove; so far so good: the leather feels nicely waxy but not full-fat greasy. Might apply more in a couple of days but think I've done enough. Very happy with the jacket and with the results of my efforts.

    Cleaning an Aero jacket

Thanks Bob, that's good to know. I also have some Renapur which seems "lighter" (creamier?) than the stiffer wax of Pecards so I might try that as well or instead. The jacket is only 4 years old but I enjoy treating leather and it will make the jacket feel more like "mine" and less like the...

    Cleaning an Aero jacket

right, I gave it a gentle wipe down with some warm soapy water and a two-sided sponge / soft nylon pan scourer. Surprised at how little dirt came off. Water turned faintly grey as it bled some dye but not much. It never let it get more than damp (not really wet) and then dabbed it dry with...

    Cleaning an Aero jacket

Thanks Bob. I was just a little concerned about using detergents on the leather, don't want to strip off the finish or damage it. Glad it worked for you, think I'll give it a go over the weekend.

Fedora Lounge Motorcyclists: Safe Gear with a Vintage Vibe

new member here but just adding to this thread by saying I'm a big fan of the Merlin waxed cotton jackets. Mine is in an olive / brown colour just like a nicely aged Belstaff but with the added advantage of full removable CE body armour, a better fit / cut and a lower price. It's a winner...

"Pop in" at Aero, pic of 40 yo MC jacket

Looks good! I've also just bought my 20 year old daughter a vintage Kett "perfecto" style bike jacket. And I'm also a new member here so feel a bit awkward saying welcome but "Welcome"!
