Brim up or Brim Down
Well both brim up or down looks great from the side, however it is drastically more polarizing from the front. IMO Brim down is more practical because you can actually shade your eyes, and in the heavy rain water has somewhere to flow as opposed to collecting in an all up brim. That's a good point! I've been living in cold weather so sweat hasn't been an issue for me. Perhaps an even more durable option would be to wrap the paper (whichever you chose) in tape.- zackefeller

When you purchase a hat that's slightly too large for your head but don't want to buy a size down because it would be too tight, the typical solution is to purchase foam sizing strips that you stick to the inside of the sweatband in order to provide a better fit.
