Took a chance on this beauty without knowing the size and guess what.... too small. Stamped 4 1/2 inside the sweat and 4 on the paper label. Has anyone seen this liner? I haven't been able to find a comparison anywhere.
Been looking for a Borso that fits nicely. The search is off. Needs a little work but overall she’s in beautiful shape. Fits like a 7 3/8 which I needed. Palladio grey with thin ribbon, trolley, and Labrador pin. My new favorite.
Snagged my first pre 40's Stetson... No.1 Quality. Sold through Silverwoods Men's store in Los Angeles. I believe it to be 1930's based on the crest, stitched sweat, and tags. Price tag for Silverwoods is present and looks to read $10.00. Looks like Lot# 7618?
Thanks guys, the image in the liner is of the Sailor's Monument in Brindisi, Italy. The address of Francesco Sion's mens shop was located at a major intersection in Brindisi. Although the store no longer exists the building still houses retailers. I love looking up the history as much as I can.
I picked up this beautiful Borsalino in a batch of hats and its about a size too small :( New Old Stock. Euro size 6 and fits like a 7-7 1/8. I'm guessing 1950's? any contradiction to that assessment?
Beautiful building right? Thanks for sharing this information, a lot of which I hadn't seen before. - Forgive the late reply, still picking up on notifications and alerts. :)
Thanks, I've been poke'n around for a bit and finally felt like sayin hello ;) Here are some interior pics. Condition is excellent but I have no idea of the exact age. Don't know much about Klee Bros besides what I could find out about the department store.
I can't argue with you. I just picked up two Borsalino's and one liner looks similar to yours but I assume is from a later date as you stated. Again beautiful!
