Haven't posted on this site in a long while, so I have several suits to show off. I'll just show my most recent find for now.
Bullock's Wilshire, likely from the 1960s. It's in great condition, not to mention that it fits perfectly. Found it at a thrift store in Pasadena for $40, a worthy...
Found this Resistol Kitten Finish at a vintage store in Burbank this week. Only $40, not too bad. Fits like a charm. Not sure of the date on it... looks a bit too clean to be from earlier than the mid/late 1960s.
Last films I watched:
La Dolce Vita - First time for seeing this classic.
The Circus - I've probably seen this film a dozen times
A Night at the Opera - Astonishingly, this was the first time I'd seen it, and I've seen just about all of the Marx Brothers films, especially the Paramount films.
There's plenty of stories and options for a fifth film. They dropped the ball on 4, I enjoyed it, but not in the way I enjoyed 1-3. I haven't completely given up on the franchise, as long as they find a good artifact that is... y'know... mythical.
Especially when there is still Atlantis...
Right now I have The Louvin Brothers (1940s-60s Country) stuck in my head, like always.
Other than that I've been digging on some Buell Kazee (1920s-30s folk musician) and Joseph Falcon (1920s-30s Cajun)... No sir, I don't need no big city music.
I got this NOS Stetson Ivy League in the mail today, it's a real beauty...
and of course I had to do a self photo shoot to show it off.
anyone know about this model of stetson? The patina on the hat box leads me to believe it is at least 30 years old. But the hat just looks too new.
Today I watched:
La Strada (1954) - First time I've seen this one, a real downer, but a beautiful film none the less. 9.5/10
and
The Brother From Another Planet (1984) - I really liked this one, a strange social commentary science-fiction film. 8/10
I agree, it is a great film. The Boer war is an interesting and seldom covered subject.

My favorite obscure films:
Streetwise - a documentary about homeless teens in...
I myself have a Melton fedora. I can't find much info about it, but it's a fine lid, definitely one of my favorites.
Inside the sweatband reads "Melton - Art In Hats" and "American Hatters - 34 Church Street - New Haven"
Brothers: my application to your fine organization.
My lovely Stetson Open Road, my everyday hat.
and the best part, I bought it for $15!!!
Still needs steam and work to get the crease where I want it. as you can see it's a great hat for adventure.
Greetings all.
