You’re right guys, that is a weird looking effect - if I recall, I used the eraser button and it kind of blended my head into the background colors lol.
Hi everybody, I've been putting a good amount of wear these days on my Lewis Leathers Dominator and noticed a loose thread in the left armpit area -- anything to worry about? Many thanks!
Here's my Cascade that I bought in 2016. Lightweight black cowhide. These pics were taken when brand new - after a year or two I ended up taking 1.25" off the back but otherwise she fits beautifully. I put it up on a thread here soon after I got it. Love it, and had a great experience with...
Here's my Langlitz Cascade in the medium weight brown cowhide. It's about five years old, got a fair amount of wear time on it. Has really softened up. I remember being a little underwhelmed by the leather when it was brand new, was kind of flat and featureless, but it keeps getting better...
One more thing I'll add on the fit of this jacket, and that is the cut of the shoulders. I feel that the slope of the shoulders is a little more horizontal (not as downward sloping from the collar to the end of shoulder) as other jackets I have. That results in the corners of the shoulders...
Hello Edgar, yes I'd say this jacket fits on the snug side. Fortunately I was able to visit the Lewis Leathers shop in London and try on the various jackets, turned out the standard size 40 in the Dominator with no alterations was just right for me. I will say that the armholes are cut...
Thanks everybody. From my visit to the Lewis Leathers shop in London till it arrived on my front porch (USA) was four weeks. I ordered a stock size 40, with one inside chest pocket, the red sail cloth lining, satin sleeve lining, and black zipper tape. The shop was great, lots of fantastic...
Hello everyone, a nice package from England arrived recently and inside was this Lewis Leathers Dominator jacket in navy horsehide. It's a little stiff but this is a lightweight leather (1.1 - 1.3 mm is what they specify on their site) and it is softening up very easily already. It feels...
Thanks wclary -- I was able to make it out to Portland and stop by the shop, Bennie measured me for the jacket and I requested a snug fit. I think he pretty much used the exact same method they specify in their measuring sheet they send out with the catalog. The front length is 21"; I'm 5'...
kronos77 and technovox: this lightweight cowhide is really nice. I have another Langlitz jacket in the midweight brown cowhide that's two years old and boy that midweight is tough stuff. I've worn it a ton, slept in it like a dozen times, and it is just starting to soften up and break in. I...
Thanks guys. I love the jacket and Langlitz has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. I had a chance to be out in Portland in March and made it into the shop. Bennie measured me and it was a real treat to meet those guys (and gals) and see their craftsmanship at work first-hand. My...
Hello everybody, been enjoying this forum for quite awhile now and sure have learned a lot from you all. This is a new Langlitz Cascade in black lightweight cowhide. I requested the snug fit, not for riding. Brand new, so a little stiff. Fits like a glove but the amazing thing is there's no...
