My undergrad degree is in music. I really enjoyed music theory, with the possible exception of traditional counterpoint (talk about frustration!). I actually wish I had been able to take more theory classes.
If you don't mind some unsolicited advice, I'd recommend trying to take courses...
My undergraduate degree is in music, my graduate degree is in security management, and I'm currently taking classes in fraud investigations. I think I'm a better investigator than musician.
Off the top of my head...

One of my favorite sandwiches...sauteed sliced portabello mushrooms with lettuce, baby spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, hummus, and spicy brown mustard on multigrain bread, seasoned with a little salt, pepper, and oregano. mmmmmmmmm.
Bukowski's Tavern, Boston. It's been a few years since I've been there, but it got to the point where it didn't matter what time I went in there because the entire waitstaff knew me. They would have an opened Corona in front of me as soon as I sat down, ready to take my order for a burger and...
I went to a music school and my principal instrument was guitar. I play mostly electric blues on my Strats, though I'll dabble with a little jazz once in a while. I'm mostly a melody/lead player, never really developed good rhythm guitar chops, though I can do simple stuff. I studied...

I'm also a fan. There's a collection of his short stories, "The Continental Op," that I believe predate his full-length novels. I need to go dust off my copy and re-read as it's been quite some time since I've read it.
I also like Ross McDonald. I've only read a couple of his books, but if...
My preference is generally for bourbon. I've gotten some flak for my favorite choice, 12-year-old Old Charter. To me it's a very smooth, easy drinking bourbon. I also like Maker's Mark.
I'm not much of a Scotch drinker, but a few years ago I read a book by Barry Eisler where the...
Interesting Combo
How's this for an odd mix...my undergrad degree is in music, but my grad degree is in security.
I love education, despite my ever-growing student loan debt load. I recently added up the college credits I've taken...nearly 300!!! :fing28:
Another Newbie
Hi, all! :)
I found this place while searching for "fedoras." Go figure. ;)
I've always liked hard-boiled detective fiction and some film noir, but I've recently found a growing interest in the Golden Era. Sometime I feel like I belong in a different time period.
