I've lost count of my hats.........I think that is good. If I could only have one it would be my taupe bogart style fedora, I believe it is a Stetson, don't have the model, I love that one, have it in gray as well.
The Niles would be my pick for color and style. I had a pair in but the new 8 last does not like my foot and the 5 last does not work (Park Ave). If the Niles came in an A width I might be able to make it work, but as of now they do not.
Vladimir, you know I wore regular rise pants for some time, still can in some pleated, but for the most part I wear short rise. I believe the canali slacks I own are regular rise, but for all else, especially American style I like short better.
mano, thanks but I am a short, always will be. At a tad under 5'7" I need both short jackets and short rise slacks...at 54 I know one thing and that is the size I need. I laugh at the old days before I knew when I look at those old pics.
Thanks
Hard to find 40 Shorts anywhere but a reputable shop...ebay has none in HF, maybe other brands....maybe another time...how hard to find a 40S with double vents?
The more I read the more money I end up spending. I have been buying off the rack suits for years and now that I have an opportunity to buy a MTM Coppley I discolver the canvas vs the fused issue..the Coppley seems to be a combination with a floating piece of canvas in the front and some fusing...
I like the napkin under the seat idea, maybe a restaurant will get the idea, if not at least the hat stays clean...just gotta remember it, that's all. I generally leave then in the car when dining out but that defeats the purpose many times.
Thanks...Actually the pics are not great, what looks like the material bubblin under the pocket is really not there. It is actually made by San Diego leather. I had the FlightSuite (Gibson and Barnes) and I was not happy with the fit. It was very strange under the arms, but gussetts just went on...
It appeared that during the spring US Wings was selling some Indy jackets very cheap...when some folks got them they complained about the quality and there was some discussion that some of these, if not all, were still being made my Coopers, whose reputations does seem to not be great these...
The price was right so I got nervous but brought one in to see...Since they did not have my size in brown them made one up and took the two inches off of the sleeves as I asked. The pics are far from great but the jacket is very nice. They will alter sleeve length for a modest price anyway. I...
El,I am also a long time LLB buyer, been to the store, always worth a visit when nearby, more stuff than in the catalog and the outlet just across the street. I have never had a problem with LL Bean, been buying there for longer than I did with LE. I like LL Bean mostly for summer shirts, you...
EL, Thanks for you post...I have come to the conclusion that I am better off without buying fron LE now....I have replaced my dress shirts with ones from Norddtroms and chinos from banana republic, and all are of higher quality.
Thanks
BT, thanks..then it must have been the fact that the jacket was just too big.. It would be nice to save the $100 and just have the jacket as it is intended...hope it works out that way.
Well then if the fit is good, and I hope the 38 does it, then that may be it. I have to resolve my aversion to epaulets, if I cannot then the A2 with no epaulets, at that point since I am paying $100 more I would add handwarmers and an inner pocket. Can't think of anything else to add, I think...
I just received a 40 in the US authentic A2. The goat is very nice, much nicer than I expected. It is a bit big for me, I think a 38 may work better, not sure if they make shorts though, it may be a custom if I need to do that, but a great jacket, the nicest I have seen.
KC, thanks...I think I will have them send in a goat to look at in my size, then if I want to add hand warmers and no epauletts it should be pretty easy. I don't know, I have never liked epauletts, never. But I do like the fact that they use wool instead of nylon on the sleeves and waist and...
That's the one I am thinking of. I will have to try their A2 for it, the upcharge is $100 for custom, not matter what the specs are, and if I want horsehide another $100. How do most feel about goat vs. horse?
Thanks
