Bushman
It's confusing. I thought the "Bushman" was an exclusive to David Morgan and copied the oldest of Akubra models. Australian websites sometimes list a Bushman, but I have yet to see a photo and/or specs that match the DM offering.
Hatsdirect shipping time
Just got second order -- faster than first order. Paid on Saturday, arrived a week later on Monday. Think that's only 5 Business Days.
Silverbelly Campdraft
Hatsdirect has Campdraft available in Silverbelly, though not listed on website. They had me order the Fawn and note that I wanted Silverbelly instead. No Wait.
The Greys of Akubra
I have a Fed IV in Carbon Grey -- really dark and to my taste. I think the Stylemaster is in the same or nearly dark grey. Wish that Squatter came with a black ribbon, though a change is easy enough.
Order Today!
Has the exchange rate been any better in recent past? Fed IV about US$67.00! Wonder if Campdraft in Silverbelly can be ordered from HatsDirect?
Fed IV Delivery & Price
One ordered on a Friday came on Thursday 2 weeks later. Just ordered another today since the price (delivered) is just about US$93. -- last one cost about US$105. Is there a better VALUE out there?
Who's the Father of the "Metrosexual?"
Why, Mark Simpson, of course!
Haven't read through EVERY post here, but didn't see mention of He Who Coined the Term.

Keppler's hats
Yes, Keppler orders hats from Beaver that aren't actually made of beaver, but all this -- and more -- would become clear should the Original Poster choose to do a search.
Dressing Henry Higgins
Professor Higgins would certainly dress to please himself. The costumer's mistake would be to provide a hat not of the period -- or just before the period of "Pygmalion".
Bogart's Hat
Lee Keppler makes a "Bogie" copied from The Maltese Falcon. A search here will reveal feedback from experts as well as from at least one buyer.
He's going to make one for me quite soon.
Presidential Hats
FDR wore hats all the time -- there's that thread about one of his hats for sale. Might have been the best president for the hat industry, if JFK was the worst.
"An Actor will Dress the Part..."
It sure did work for Olivier. So many of our tortured "method" types know everything about the lower-middle-class, but can't convincingly play anything else.
While I was waiting in a long line to pick up a theatre ticket, I noticed another hat-wearer walk...
19th-Century Fedora
Well, the play was first mounted in 1882. And since Bernhardt was more famous than Madonna and Princess Di combined, I suspect many thousands of the hats were made by early 1883.
