still alive though!
I can't see the pics here though so I'm not sure which hat this is. I'll look through my hats and see what I have. I kind of doubt a little that I have it - I still do own a bunch of hats but they're all the sentimental ones that I refuse to let go of, and I don't really...
Hi, all - hope everyone is well.
It's time for my family's annual trip to Disneyland, so I'm thinning the herd once again. Lots of great 40s and 50s men's outwear for sale here, plus one fine Cavanagh fedora (size 7 3/8).

Shoot...
thanks!
ha ha ha, I'm not sure why that is. Personally, I'm enjoying getting older. I've looked like a 12-year-old for most of my life, and now I'm 41 and I finally feel like I look like a grownup.
Hello again - I didn't bother putting these on eBay.
I have a few vintage hat blocks, and one that's a modified vintage block, as well as a few brim flanges.
I have no recollection as to what I paid for them. I've included some photos below and you can see the markings for yourselves...
Hello, all. Time for my yearly house cleaning.
two near deadstock hats - I actually think the Royal Stetson Deluxe I have for sale might be one of the finest I've owned. It's so nice that I basically never wore it because I didn't want to be the one putting wear on it!
on the Bay...
Sorry for the delay. For some reason, my notification emails were going into my spam folder, so I didn't know anyone had posted here.
Thanks for the kind thoughts. Without getting into details...this is the most devastating thing I've ever gone through. Completely out of the blue, and...
Well, folks, I have some very sad news to report.
You know how I've always said I have a very patient wife?
Well, her patience has run out, and after 13 years, we are splitting up.
As a result, I have decided to part with a good deal of my collection. I have listed it all on eBay here...
Got a little something for everyone here, in my semi-annual vintage eyeglass sale:

There are 22 pair!
women's, men's, the works. Mostly inexpensive, some rare larger...
Hello, all! Hope everyone is well.
I've got another cache of vintage eyeglasses up for sale on eBay. This time it includes two pair of vintage Tart Arnels, one in black, and one in amber. Both larger sizes (the black is particularly nice and is a 48/24)...
Hello, all! Hope you're well.
Time to sell some stuff again.
I've got three pair of vintage eyeglasses (two Malcolm X-style combination frames, one that's a mutant take on the Tart FDR).
I also have a Penney's Marathon (size 7 1/8) and a Medium 50 Atomic rayon shirt in great condition...
Oh yeah, they are pretty big.
Typically, those go for $100 - $150. The guy who seems to sell those a lot offered me a buy it now of $150 for those in my size. I almost bought them, but decided on spending $250 on a pair of greysmokes from him instead.
Those are really cool! One of the few colors of Arnel I don't own.
The amber ones have gotten even more out of control, in terms of price. I saw one end for $1200 a few months ago, and then about a week later, I saw one get bid up to $2200 in the last two minutes of the auction. (yes, I...
I'm really going to be thinning the hoard in the next couple of weeks.
Got a couple more pair up for sale, this time a great example of the famous American Optical Sirmont frame (similar to Malcolm X)...
I think Microshapes' crystal Arnel is closer to those LBJ frames.
I would think you'd be able to find a vintage pair of fades on eBay, or at www.vintageeyeglassesonline.com - they don't tend to be super expensive, and they're also likely better made than any modern comparable frame you're...
I think Demi refers to being partially translucent? Not the fade-to-clear type, but like a tortoise type of effect. I've seen frames called Demi amber and Demi gray, and they seemed to be a patterned, swirly, borderline tortoise look.
