i received my natural colour hemp Strat from @Monavillecowboy this past Friday but, unfortunately, as I was on holiday did not actually get my grubby hands on it until Monday. Great hat and I'm considering getting at least one more.
^^ The second picture with the LEOs makes me wonder if they had just made a bust or were on their way to a party. :)
And dag! That stuffed pelican is impressive. I hope it made someone a good meal before it was mounted.
Your observations are nearly the same as mine. I was fully expecting the felt to be better than it is. The felt finish is a little better, but is sort of uneven when put next to the BGG Imperial. I have to agree with you on the sweatband. It is luxurious with some of the softest leather I've...
Looks great moon. Now you have the Heritage to compare to the Imperial, what do you think? Are you of the opinion that the Heritage is worth the extra cost? I have an opinion, but haven't shared it yet. ;)
And those are the auctions where I just shake my head and laugh because the seller was most likely being greedy, didn't understand the market and ultimately made a lot less than they thought the item to be worth. Then they are bound by eBay terms to sell the item to the highest bidder. I find...
It appears you know exactly how I feel as a collector of vintage lightweight English bicycles. Buying entire bicycles is horribly difficult because of shipping costs and getting parts isn't much better. I've purchased several framesets from the UK, and shipping typically costs upwards of 125...
Alan, I think there is some merit to your theory, at least regarding the liner. It is glued in and is placed crooked inside the hat. The sweatband and ribbon look original to my untrained eye. Has anyone seen other examples of sweatbands like this where Playboy is at the front and made with 3X...
Many times when I hear someone say amen, I think of Ferlinghetti's Last Prayer (or is it Loud Prayer?) which he recited on The Last Waltz. Cracks me up.
Let us pray:
Our father whose art’s in heaven
Hollow be thy name
Unless things change
Thy wigdom come and gone
Thy will will be undone
On...
There are some wonderful Playboys in this thread. I have one that is not so wonderful, but is different from nearly I've seen in this thread so far.
These are the differences I've spied so far:
The liner says "No. 1. Quality"
Playboy embossing is on the front of the sweatband.
Material is 3x...
Knox had the coolest buttons on their wind trolleys. I do not recall any other hat maker who put their name and logo on the button as they did. Of course, I'm pretty new to this and I'm pretty sure someone will prove me wrong.
The TSA inspected the hat very closely. Perhaps if I had put it through the X-ray machine, they wouldn't have checked it out so closely. I don't often fly, but I remember why I avoid it after being on 6 different flights over the course of 4 days.
^ I forgot all about WWW. I wonder if the episodes are on Netflix. On another note, based on the way I was treated by our friends at the TSA on a couple of recent flights, you'd almost think I had tools, bombs and contraband hidden in my hat. Their response to my hat wearing was less then...
Technically, this is a cap, but it's close enough. This is our cat widget when she was probably 8-9 weeks old. She was a mess than and is still a mess now.

Finished the last episode of series 1 of Forsyte Saga. Overall it's okay. Were it not for Gina McKee being in the show, I'd probably have moved onto something else.

+1 The info from zombie_61 is great stuff to know. I've wondered the same thing myself but had not yet done the research, so your question was timely.

Nice hats guys. I really like the look of hatsRme's lid.
For me, I'm wearing the BG CD with my hand creased cattleman bash. Since I'm on my way to San Antonio, I thought this would be the most appropriate hat to wear short of a cowboy hat.
