I've been wearing bow ties for 15 yrs now. I get far more compliments than anyone would believe. the key to wearing a bow tie is not to give a flying rats *** what anyone thinks!
well rbh...
you've sold me. any day now i should receive my crazy gus in a 3.5 brim complete with the cheapest stampede strap they offer. i ordered the regular rather than the II since i figured after a summer on the hobie and the sunfish i can do a sufficient distressing job all on my own...
love the crazy gus
rbh, how does the sizing run on the crazy gus? large? small? also, are yours in the 3.5 or 4 inch brim width? that would be the perfect hat for workin on the sailboat... also, how do you feel they compare to the shady brady offerings?
details directly from hats direct
Crown heights are the same but the Whippet has a closer pinch. This is because it has a narrower bash at the top, the Hampton has a slightly broader bash. On the whole only subtle differences.
cheers,

McClintock!
ever since watching the movie McClintock with john wayne, i have an appreciation for a nice western hat with the classy look of a ribbon band. nice hat indeed
welcome
i was a little jealous of the guitar.. but you had to go and mention luchesses. i'm just a poor guy with a pair of tony lamas, and a funky pair of justin vintage with some crazy inlays. pick the banjo myself, and a little mandolin and guitar thrown in for good measure. look forward...
it appears on the hatsdirect site that the whippet is a lower crown than the hampton. does anybody own either of these and are you willing to share pictures of you wearing them? i own a vintage stingybrim, given to me by my mother in law, it had belonged to her father. what with the family...
thanks all!
sorry it's been so long for me to respond, i too was busy listening to uncle ted and cleaning my guns, without a drop of cleaning solution on my signature gold tie! carlisle... your avatar reminds me another vice... the banjo - sullivan bardstown made in louisville, ky. great...
Greetings to all... I've been posting on here off and on for several months and have noticed that many take a moment to introduce themselves, so here goes. I live in Savannah, GA where I serve as a minister am about to embark on an adjunct professorship at a local university. I

wasnt it george bernard shaw who said that the british and the americans were two peoples separated by a common language?

"campdraft" - "the campdraft"
on the hatsdirect site, on the akubra hats page two, they offer "THE campdraft" @ AU$102.50. however, on the fedora page they list simply "campdraft" @ AU$103.50. isnt this the same hat or am i missing something?
fantastic job. proves that it only looks hard... should take the fear out of the open crown for some people. and as i've learned from my akubras, a little steam and you can start all over
