DD - I don't think this is an aftermarket job. This parka has the designation Mil 6279H whereas later the same year ie 1972, the designation turns to Mil 6279H (I) and back to olive green lining. All I can deduce is that there was a short run of camo lining perhaps because it was a shot at...
No as soon as the jackets arrive I cut out the tags and throw the rest away....;-)
Actually I enjoy looking at how they evolve through each of the variants...so from first version - '52% wool and 48% cotton' and frankly built to withstand a hurricane versus version 'G' - 100% polyester and...
Please ignore above. Looks like have have now found what I need which completes the full MA-1 line of variants. Now need to work on finishing off my N-2 and N-3 lines so if anyone has a first issue N-2 please drop me a line.
Hi - does anyone have an MA-1 'F' model, (ie Mil J 8279F) they would like to move on? Looking for XL and mint condition. Please message me if you have anything....thanks.
Looking for first issue N-2 'Jacket Flying Heavy Attached Hood Type N-2' not N-2A or N-2B. Size not important but must be in good condition. Please message me if you have one you are looking to move on.
Thanks
Nevertheless would be great to see what you have... the fact that it was issued to you gives it a nice bit of provenance...I was too young and stupid to think about keeping the first combat jacket that was ever issued to me!
Ok - so another - nothing too special other than the fact that I have a soft spot for N-2B parkas even though they drive me nuts with the short waist...
So this one is a fairly 'vanilla' 1981 issue except that someone has replaced the synthetic hood fur with genuine wolf fur from an earlier...
Agree completely and I have a fair few parkas that look like they were used to mop up industrial accidents! Having said that so few N-3's come up that I had to chance my arm and I am glad to say it is in really nice condition....very pleased.
Another of my favourites - 1st Pattern CWU-8/P....second pattern onwards and the fur rimmed hood was replaced with an interesting velcro hooded system...
This one dates to somewhere between 1967 - 70.
Now is a good time - there seem to be plenty about....I am 6'2" 42" chest and 34 waist and L is plenty big enough so you need to think about what fit you want.....unfortunately I have gibbon arms whihc means I often have to go for a longer fit when Med would suit. Honestly you should be fine...
Hi,
new to forum. Recently purchased a 1970's N2B parka from a forum member and he suggested I take a look here.
Looks like a great forum.
In the meantime I am looking for a 1960's N3B parka to complement the N2B. Must be XL as I play to wear it.
Thanks
