Derby or Open Crown?
Yes, it's open crown. As a side note, I just spent over 40 minutes looking through every page of hats on ebay. I found this one at the tail end of that and had decided to bid on it. That was before I saw it posted here, though. Don't think I'll be able to afford it now.... -

Getting the "I don't know what a bash is" comment from a hat shop?
Good choice of hat. I've owned 3 Akubra's, they're great. I wouldn't suggest using warm or hot water to shape it, though. I've used it before, and I could almost watch the hat tapering before my eyes. Cold water works better. If you're going to use steam, make sure the hat is a good distance... -
