I've got 5 Aero jackets bought over the last 10 years, always exellent service and good communications.
I think its a very good company, expecially because of the good communication and attension to specific wishes.
I have got a Hercules with alpaca lining, but never had a problem with itching, it's my winter jacket, so I never wear it with only a t-shirt underneath.
My Hooch Hauler has a quilted lining, witch is very nice and warm.
The jacket needs time to settle. I own a HWM for 10 years now, and it is my most versatile leather jacket. Its roomy and very easy to throw on, over sweater/hoody or t-shirt, very wearable.
The zipper in my Hooch Hauler is also not good, it is not strong enough to cope with the realy thick natural leather.
It opened up a few time because of the tension from the heavy leather. It still works, but i have to be careful, possibly I will send it back to put in a stronger zipper. Or I...
I have used shellac on leather projects, that also makes leather squeak, I would not recommend removing the top layer with alcohol. It is their to protect the leather.
In time the topcoat of the leather will break in and the sqeaking will get a lot less.
I have a 3 year old teamster from russet...
Aero's natural CXL front quarter horsehide is the thickest CXL at the moment. I have a Hooch Hauler in that leather, it needs work to make it comfortable, it will fit a lot better when its broken in. The natural CXL is absolute beautiful leather and worth the extra effort of breaking it in.
With my highwayman I had a simular problem with the cotton drill, it it was completely worn at the waist edge (2 years old). I got in touch with Aero about the problem and the put in a corduroy strip, its good now. (last pictute is now 5years after repair )
