    Hi tropicalbob This is Panama Bob's $25 starter hat. I only specified a wider brim and a natural color (as opposed to white) in my size. Looking at Bob's old website, it appears to be a "Caballero" style. Good luck!

    In reading the forum, it appears that the Akubra polystraw hats and some of the Tilley models appear to be popular choices in hot climates where thundershowers might ruin a genuine panama hat. Do I have this right?

    Thanks! Bob doesn't have any wider brims right now, but when he finds a suitable one, I think we are going to send it to Mr. Gomez for a leather sweat band, etc. That will add some time to the process, but I'm confident it will be worth the wait.
